What really got me was when he said “no one wants to call my daughter on her birthday because they don’t know what to say to her”. That really hurts.

I’ve seen this man sitting in this courtroom daily. Silent. Same expression. To hear him speak today, about his life and loss from this horrible case was absolutely devastating. Truly heartbreaking. I hope that he and the other families will have justice one day soon.

I lost my son to a drunk 20 year old third time offender drunk boat driver. I feel this man’s pain and also his restraint for truly expressing himself in the most honorable way possible. There is no pain like loosing a child.

Nicholas face during the entire trial and the impact statements is infuriating. I can not imagine having to be a family member sitting there seeing his blank almost smirking face, and his lawyers joking around and flipping people off. These families are unbelievably strong beautiful people.

I teared up when he talked about Scott and the wonderful human being he was, the things he did for people, for children. Those memories will always live on, not just with your family Scott, but the world. We heard about it here in the UK, but coverage was spotty. We need to remember each of the 17 people who lost their lives in such a cruel, senseless way. Learn who they were, what they enjoyed. This gentleman his summed up everything this animal deserves, and everything he will get, and be forgotten about as much as is humanly possible.

I love how all of these parents have called out the defense team. Yes, they had a job to do, but their lovey dovey behavior towards him and their bs behavior in court was so dishonorable it's indefensible. These families have been through the worst of the worst and I hope they can have some kind of healing moving forward.

This hit so close to home, this man reminds me so much of my father, even how he looks but especially the things he said and I just keep imagining him standing up there having to go through this pain because of someone’s disgusting actions. The words he said, the hand gesture the stories it was like exactly what my father would say. I can’t imagine how I would feel if any of my family members were murdered and it took over 4 years to even BEGIN to get justice, I can’t imagine my life without my older brother he’s everything to me. Immediately when he started speaking I sobbed. Most people can’t imagine what these families have gone through and will go through. Unfortunately I can not only imagine but remember vividly the emotions, physical pain, and anxiety from my own experience. When my brother was murdered in my senior year of high school I thought that was as bad as things could get. Then you enter a courtroom and have to be immersed in the worst day of your life over and over again. The defense repeatedly assassinated my brothers character and devalued him as a person trying to defend the indefensible. They called him a thug, brought up his past, and even blamed him for his own death. They were allowed to represent my loving, protective, and amazing brother as being a criminal who “ lived by the sword and died by the sword!” There is nothing worse the sitting next to the coward who changed your life and listening to people make excuses for him. To have the defense beg for mercy so that this killer could see his family and friends again. Only to hear a sentence that is not fair and receive no justice. We went back repeatedly to do our victims impact statements and every time those same unhealed wounds would be ripped open again. I’m so happy this monster will never be free again. I could not imagine anyone sharing the pain our family will share when my brothers killer soon walks free. To the families we stand with you! You are brave and your are strong! Rest in peace to all of the love ones you lost! RIP Terrance Moore I still feel your presence watching over me and my son! Even though you never got to meet him, I see so much of you in his eyes! His son was such a good man, such a thoughtful person and teacher. He gave so much in his short life to others. This speech was especially tough to hear.

I remember when this happened, where I was. I admit I didn't follow this trial, but the heart of this father hit me hard. Knowing law was his profession and passion then having to stand and face the animal that wrecked his world just made this so much more heavy. I am so grateful the judge allowed him to speak in the manner he did. (Even when it was explicit at times) That was a rough, yet necessary verbal berating of Cruz. Praying for long-term peace to these families and all affected by this evil.

As a Father whose oldest son was murdered 10 days before his 21st Birthday, I think I can relate somewhat to this Father. I’m just sorry the Judge couldn’t “Set Aside” the ruling in the Penalty Phase and Sentence this POS TO “DEATH BY TORTURE”. I pray the inmates do this for us.
