so great that you try to fix the failed so they feel represented and appreciated..its a lot of work..me was in that situation and i felt so blessed, that you fixed my wrong resolution and I could see my stuff :) Thx for your challenges and also the partners who give some stuff for free.
I missed the stream. For fitting a custom animation with the run cycle, what are the constraints to that? Can I start the custom animation early and end it late as long it fits in the run cycle? Meaning, I will have a shorter period where the character is running at the beginning and at the end of the cycle.
I was considering using the Jenga Elemental Suite but I followed the link to the video where they were talking about the golem short film and they said they don't currently have macos support but they're hoping to at some point. I'm currently using a Mac, just FYI.
I think you can, there are submissions before that are full 2D and still made to the top 100. Still, better ask someone who knows better just to be sure.
@pwnisher Hey Clint, would it be possible for you guys to provide a 3ds Max startet template in the future as well? I think some people here (including me) would appreciate it a LOT! I have a hard time setting up the scene from scrath using just the .fbx imports.
Can you describe the issue with the fbx import process? We definitely want to make sure its working smoothly. You should have the camera FBX and all of the animations.
@@pwnisher The animations on their own are working, but the camera is not animated (it shoul follow the character, right?). I have to manually line up the camera to the animations but I don't know which angle, height or distance in relation to the animations.
Is there a way to get a 5.3 file version for the Unreal engine template? I cant open 5.4 due to an issue out of my control with epic. directX12 related crashes with 5.4.
Hey, I am having trouble getting the animations to switch in unreal engine. The only animation that works is a run sequence. The animation that works has a running forward visual. The ones that don't work seem to have a visual of a figure running sideways. All of the animations dispelled in his tutorial for unreal engine has animations where the manny is running forward. Does anyone have a potential solution?
I know the camera can't move, but is it alright to move the entire world/background. I would like my character to jump much higher, but don't want him to go out of frame. I figured if I just move everything except the character/camera, I could get this effect. edit: this could also be useful for anyone who wants to switch environments. Like have their character start on street level, but then fall into a sewer, and end the animation running from mutants or something 2nd edit. seems like this was answered towards the end of the stream with the mario question
If for some reason you feel its necessary to change the run cycle, you must make sure it cuts with all the other submissions that use the provided run cycle. Basically, if it breaks the montage, its out.
I think it would be a good idea to specify the UR5 version used im assuming its working on 5.4.3 but i have very limited storage on my PC accounting for my assets and stuff like that, can any one confirm if thats the version used? I tried to open it on 5.3 but it wont work.
