Hi Phil, excellent video. It is really great seeing tram tracks back in Tramway Avenue, which haven't been there since the steam tram days, prior to the early 1940s. I am just curios to wonder what was there before the Bidgee Bidgee Bridge, which actually reminds me a bit of a mini Sydney Harbour Bridge. It is a pity that they don't reopen the tram line across the Sydney Harbour Bridge using light rail trams from Wynyard to North Sydney as a shuttle service. That would clear more road traffic off the bridge for sure. The sound from your jacket makes me wonder a bit of what the steam trams may have sounded like there back in the good old days. Hey Sydney trains Vlogs may I ask you when the Parramatta light rail opens would you be able to do a video trip travelling from Parramatta Square to Carlingford or just do one from Carlingford to Parramatta square please?
the grass looks to be struggling. it is winter but ominous signs. hopefully can be maintained well and not end up like dirt. i wonder if this area gets much sun?
There is a lot of info online, including a detailed research document about systems here and overseas, what works and what doesn't etc, plus one specifically about the system for Parramatta. Apparently it uses 'Nara Zoysia' a local grass species that is low maintenance and drought resistant. The track also incorporates a solar powered irrigation system tuned to temperature and vegetation water intake. Suggest search 'parramatta light rail green track.'
