Sanju Samson is in the news again. He has been chosen to play at No:5 in the ICC T20 world cup squad. Sanju Viswanath Samson is an Indian international cricketer, who captains Kerala in domestic cricket and Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League.
A right-handed wicket-keeper-batter, he was the vice-captain of the Indian U-19 team for the 2014 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He made his India debut in the 2015 T20 international away against Zimbabwe. He made his One Day International debut in 2021 against Sri Lanka.
Sanju started his cricketing career in Delhi and later moved to Kerala. After making an impact in junior cricket, he made his first-class debut for Kerala in 2011. He made his Premier League debut in 2013 for Rajasthan Royals and won the Emerging Player of the Year.
Sanju Samson has been in the news for not being selected in the World Cup Squad and also recently in the T20 series against Australia. MP Shashi Tharoor has questioned this decision as have many of Sanju's fans. Many consider it unfair that he has not been considered on several occasions.
In this three part series interview Sanju talks about his personal and professional journey so far. he talks about his formative years as a cricketer. He talks about his father and mother who sacrificed a lot to ensure that their son grows to be the cricketer that he is. He talks about meeting his wife Charulata in college and how their love blossomed. The second and third part of the conversation series talks about his professional journey so far and how he accepts every decision that is taken by the Indian coach and captain even if that means he is not selected. In a true sportsman spirit he shares his life lessons and the ups ad downs he faced to get to where he is today.
