In this video, we have Dr Smriti Naswa, talking to us about a procedure known as a chemical peel. People often come to dermatologists with people like pimples, uneven skin tone, age spots, sun spots, or just looking to make their skin brighter for any special occasion and for such problems, dermatologists suggest a treatment known as a chemical peel.
A chemical peel is a procedure with which one can get glowing, spotless, and more bright skin. In a chemical peel alpha hydroxy and beta hydroxy acids also known as AHA and BHA, which are normally found in fruits and trees, such as willow tree bark and sugarcanes, are manufactured to their finest forms and used to make the skin brighter. People often get scared after hearing the word chemical, but the doctor tells us that chemicals used in a chemical peel are not to be scared of. A chemical peel is not like a regular peel of masks, it works on the microscopic level on the skin.
A chemical peel removes the topmost layer of the skin from the microscopic level, which signals for the skin to make a fresh top layer of the skin. The fresh top layer of skin would be just like that of a baby, bright, soft, and blemish-free. The chemical peel might cause an itching or a tingling sensation on the skin, which is normal and to minimise that fanning is done. After a few minutes, the chemical peel is neutralised with water, and if patients experience some itching or redness, ice is used to make them feel better.
