Part 1 How to make a File Card Book

I am starting two new Index card-file folder books and will have a series of RU-vid videos showing my process. Both of the books to be made in this series will be given away to followers. The process videos will show how you can use different methods and materials to create a simillar look. This first video in the series covers materials, focal images, overview of the process and how to make the binding. If you are an experienced crafter and just want to get to the specific method of the flag binding you can fast forward to the last third of the video. Very cute. I used the same type of binding to put together mailing envelopes. They were bound into a book with a game in each envelope for each day of advent. I made one for each of my grandchildren one year.

Nice to find you, this is gorgeous! I have boxes and boxes of file folders left from our former business (we retired! yay!) Over winter I made several baskets full of pockets, folders and envelopes from them and you've given me a way to use them up! Thank you for all the info.

When my mum and dad passed I discovered a huge collection of the cards. They were in packets of loose tea here in the UK . I now know how I can enjoy them as they would have wanted. Thank you so much

I am so looking forward to the subsequent videos: i love how you've decorated with the little envelopes, which I believe "flap" open and are held shut with magnets: i thought I saw them in a flip through on Insta, but have never been able to find that particular post again. You have been very thorough in your exploration of the different decisions the crafter has to make before starting: its not absolutely necessary but the project often goes a lot more smoothly if its done like that!
