Part 1 - Spiritual Manifesting & A Course In Miracles - Exploring ACIM Ep. 70

My thoughts: The mind is asleep and dreaming. Thoughts don’t leave their source and we remain as God created you. The gifts of God are those that you really want because your thoughts are like Gods. A teacher of God will be given the means to do Gods will. It’s not that money or the material things the world of illusion contains are bad, rather it’s the value one views having them. It seems to me that just that we are talking about this indicates a belief in the illusion which isn’t real and therefore meaningless. You will be fed. God only gives happiness and doesn’t want his Holy Son to suffer. It’s been a difficult lesson for me to not make plans, to not put up defenses, to be patient and trust that God will lead me to where His Will directs. It’s kinda freeing to not worry about decisions and simply let it all go and listen to the Holy Spirit.

Michael Beckwith says that Visioning, by which he means the use of vision boards, etc. is a step along the way in one's spiritual growth. It can lift a person out of poverty, etc. but is just a stage and it gives up to the next higher stage which is surrendering all needs and wants to God's will.

It's so interesting to hear this now. I did quite a few courses on manifestation in the past (I've experienced a few positive effects, but all were very short-lived). I was about to start yet another "best-selling" one on a well-known platform. This time strangely I felt a huge inner resistance and could not concentrate to complete the course, which is very unusual for me. Eventually, I gave it up (feeling very guilty about it). An overall sense of "manifestation fatigue": why do I have to struggle so much with different manifestation techniques, pay for multiple courses and get such thin & inconsistent results? That was my "there has to be another way" moment I guess. This is when ACIM came to me. And here comes your podcast ;), reassuring me that this was a correct intuition. thank you for these amazing resources, and thank you dearly for the ACIM CE app which is FANTASTIC and so well designed.

I was always under the impression that the majority of those who are manifesting, do so out of lack. How would we know what we want, unless we've seen someone else with it? The more I wanted things, the less I felt I had. Quite the paradox. Sincere gratitude for what is, appears to have opened doors that I didn't even know that I wanted opened. After having much of what I had accumulated over the first half of my life, fall away ( I used to say 'taken away'), I was recently shown by God, how He has blessed me with another chance to experience the last half of my life from a place of peace. Thank you very much for these insights. I spent 2 years with the law of attraction. It left me wrecked and in search of constant control. Happily though, I can now understand the Course’s teachings at much deeper level due to my life getting so dark due to dependence upon myself. So everything works out in the long run, right😊?

I have just recently found you 2 and am immensely grateful ! Thankyou This can't be by accident as I am just at this very point in ACIM T-16 .IV.10 ...... "Every illusion you accept into your mind by judging it to be attainable removes your own sense of completion and thus denies the Wholeness of your Father. " This ( by coincidence ) is one of my downloads( # 756) from JC ( last Friday) which expands on this theme( and your theme) "Manifestation ,they say ,of anything you want ,is attainable. For what end? Disillusionment and despair? Look at the illusion attainments that you have attained and completed, yet you have emptiness? How could it be anything but emptiness when what you seek is not real. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his right ways and all these things shall be added unto you. What are these things that you truly desire? Ground your self in the kingdom with your passions and desires. When you seek the pleasures of the illusion recognize what you truly seek. Follow the path upward, Is it pleasure you seek? Acceptance and adorement by your brother? Being good enough? Feeling good? Feeling good is the natural state of the kingdom. Grounded in Love how can it be anything but “feeling good” Bliss beyond human description. Come! I hold a light on the narrow path that you missed as you hurried past." ( I get these downloads every time I pick up ACIM and as JC(Jesus) teaches me. My journey as student of ACIM started in April 2021 and is almost every day for up to an hour. Yet I am only at T-16 .IV.10 . I am not complaining, as all 756 downloads from JC have taught me deeper than I could ever have imagined..

It seems to me that there was a bit of a brushing over of a core principle that is common to the Course and the LOA - the fact that our minds are powerful and that they create our ‘reality’. Jesus says at one point in the Course that if we knew the power of our minds we could change the world in an instant, and that if we had enough faith that we could indeed move mountains. Then there are the much more in depth passages on how we are the dreamer of the dream, responsible for everything that happens to us. The idea of the LOA may have been hijacked by the ego as a means of getting ‘stuff’, but I think the deeper reason that it is inspiring to so many is that it offers hope of release from the depressing limitation that we are mere victims of circumstance in our lives, and that the only way out is by endless hard work and/or good fortune. Let’s face it, that is the widespread belief of humanity, not that our minds have any real influence on the outside world. The Course talks about this closed circle of reacting to the illusions that we have created, and how important it is to realise that our minds give us the power to undo it. The LOA concept may be a first step for many in doing this. Obviously the ego-trap is to make the purpose of the LOA seeking outside of yourself. However the true method of the LOA is the very opposite: it is to first accept whatever situation you are in, then assume the state of mind of your needs already fulfilled, which is usually happiness, joy, freedom, love, completion, health etc. In other words all the gifts that the Course tells us are our inheritance. Then the LOA would have us surrender to the higher power and trust in the outcome. If we stick to this actual process and don’t get drawn into wanting/needing/looking for ‘external’ results, then this is remarkably similar to what the Course teaches us. Even if we start out with the misled intention that we are using this mind control to get ourselves something from outside, it should soon become clear that if we are capable of choosing these states of mind ourselves then we no longer need things to make us happy and complete, and the awareness comes that this is indeed our true state of connection with God and all living things. There are in fact a growing number of people who have experienced miraculous healing from all kinds of ‘incurable’ conditions by going through exactly this process. And those who it works for always say that the miracle happened when the state of joy became more important to them than the actual healing. I think this is a good example of how the Holy Spirit can purify any of our worldly concerns and use them to direct us back to truth. The idea of pouring cold water on people’s hopes regarding the LOA is one of sacrifice essentially, so not actually helpful.

Damn, this is an excellent podcast episode! So relevant for our times and my life personally. I've been struggling with letting go of manifesting and New Thought concepts for a while now and this episode finally gave me the clarity to let all that go. I love the talk on pyramid schemes. Friends and I have talked about spiritual pyramid schemes for a while now and I'm glad someone is putting this info out there! 😀

This was an excellent podcast. ....As an aside, and sorry, but it is bothersome that there are so many negative comments on political actors on only one side of the aisle. People that are interested in ACIM all have different ideas politically.

Hey, hey, hey.So I’m listening to ya’ll discussing mAnifesting : endorsed by the course or not? Answer basically: No not useful to manifest nothing( dreamworld holograms). Correct me if I am mistaken but I understand the question do you sign for one reason and that is to awaken the son of God from the dream of separation. Those things that awaken you are beneficial and those that keep you invested in the illusions are not useful. If you are awake and a teacher of God your needs will be met by the Holy Spirit and those names will be those things that are directly related to your sister and your brothers and sisters and awakening along with you. What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul? What does it profit one to manifest material illusions if you are fufilled and filled with the Spirit. One need not concerned oneself wait what do you want to eat tomorrow or how you were closer so that will all be taken care of. Show up, let the spirit speak through you and move on. What trifling kid bit of illusion could try to fight you if you are possessed by the spirit and knowno love? I was just thinking that your time discussing this topic seems futile and pointless in the light of the Course’s purpose and your own… Opps, there I go offer my judgements again. How does your take on law of attraction square with Letting Him Take Charge of Minutiae Cameo?

We say we want no delay back to God ( “returning” to our One mind) and then we ask for more delay by trying to create / manifest in a loveless world . We are co-creates only in heaven sillies .this is planet illusionville and we wanna play here longer??? Haha gluttons for punishment .. PS you can delay if you’d like to but know that the atonement has already been accepted … helllooooo???? Does the Course teach that we have individual minds? Does manifesting assume that we have individual minds?

Okay, this is confusing… you said at the end of the day we have to take the necessary steps to manifest what we want. But the course says in the great scheme of things we don’t know what anything is for, so how are we supposed to take specific steps? In another section of the ACIM it says we have to focus on staying anchored in the present moment and God will provide everything. It looks likely there are three different premises when it comes to manifesting

Let go and let God *and* manifestation. What God wants for me "or" what I want for myself? Are God and I not one? In my *essence* I AM. How I start my day... Contemplative Prayer (inviting and conscenting to God's presence in my life) -- then... Asking God for His will for my day and my life --- then... Manifestation Prayers (not limited to physical things, could be relationship healing) -- then... Intention Setting Do the work (as *led*) to remove the emotional blocks, and do the work (as *led*) to physically manifest. Is this bringing my personal will into alignment my true will (God's will for me), is it wrong? How I end my day... Question, Did I remain Conscious (usually, no) -- then... Review what I Manifested in my Day (was it good) -- then... Reflecting on my Interpetation of God's Will for my life -- then... Contemplative Prayer ACIM teaching's essence is the ultimate. Is it wrong to combine it with manifestation within the dream? Is looking at car ads and working for money for car not manifesation? Is not mind involved? What's wrong with adding spiritual practices if we start and end with God's will for me? This could be all wrong.

I love all your distillations of the Course principles and will keep listening to you, what I don't understand is only praise for leftists ideals and mostly criticism for the right. You certainly have a right to your views, but there is some terrible stuff going on with the left and you can't/won't see it?

The course has zero approach to manifesting and in fact, it never uses the word manifest in the entire book. To make this very simple it’s impossible to manifest anything from the course is approach, and the reason for this is because you cannot manifest anything beyond yourself in truth, because you are everything. To the ego, and in the dream world of illusions, you may think you are Manifesting or creating things to come into your world, but that is the entire problem. Trying to fix an illusion with an illusion. However, it’s inevitable, that anyone who’s studying spirituality under some form or another, is really only using it to get their material needs met. Most people are not using it to find God, or their higher self, or inner peace. In the pamphlet in the chorus under the letter of prayer, it talks about levels of prayer, and which one praise for specifics, or form in the beginning of their mind training. It also explains that the Holy Spirit and Jesus know of not words, but the real prayer of your heart when you are praying for things like money. And the Holy Spirit and Jesus no that you have certain needs that have to be met while being an ego. And they use form only as symbols to reflect back to the mind what it’s choosing. Jesus does not condemn us for trying to have money, nor does he oppose against it. He’s simply saying look at what you’re choosing, and what teacher you’re choosing it with. In other words, let me show you what money is and let me use your money to speak through you. Give all your world leaders concerns over to Jesus and the Holy Spirit and let them use it them for God’s purpose. The new age era, like the movie, the secret, which is a total crock of shit is simply a marketing gimmick by gurus selling a message that implies you lack and everything you want is outside you in this real thing called the world. So you have to put an effort with the ego in order to try to get your human needs met. The course would say that this is further reinforcing the wish to die to the ego and keep sin guilt and fear alive.

Is Jesus a Democrat? I don’t think it is ethical for you to use your political bias when discussing Jesus’ teachings. Politics, power, & greed is of this false dream world. Jesus does not endorse nor condone any of it in the book. We should do the same and perhaps not turn-away people who side with one political view or another. Is Democracy a principal in ACIM?
