Painting a converted Dragon 1/16 scale figure using oils and acrylic paints.
Master Modeler Glenn Bartolotti has created quite a series with his "Step-By-Step Finishing Armor" series. Each of the volumes is a mini-master class in painting and weathering a specific armor kit or diorama. The paints, powders and washes are all clearly identified, along with pre-shading and other painting techniques.

Hi Glenn Great work mate! Really cool idea on scaling down a pic so you can transfer the complex plane tree camouflage pattern. You can get away with a 1/35 scale figure, but on a 1/16 you admittedly have to put more attention to detail in trying to replicate it. I like the colour, nice and soft not garishly unrealistic. You’ve certainly done a good job. Thanks for sharing another great video presentation ❤😊

I paint entirely with oils (for most models), it's sometimes good just to leave a model dry out for a week, before working on it again. Then again, most of my models, are sci-fi, but I do enjoy historical models, for various reasons.

Yeah, oils are great. I used to paint my figures entirely and oils over acrylics back in the day. That’s how I learned. I just messing around more with acrylics these days. It seem to be the trend, but I wish I never would’ve switched caught up and the whole acrylic Painting techniques thanks for your comment!

@@ArmorModelsbyGlennBartolotti It's a technique that takes some time to master. I really only use acrylics on models which I know will have a lot of metal on them, or are a vehicle in their own right. Having said that, I unfortunately haven't felt like painting anything since autumn last year, due to personal reasons. I'm sure I'll get back into it at some point, though. Happier and more sure of my technique.
