Creating a custom base for a converted Dragon 1/16 scale figure and improving it by using an after market head. Part 2 will be painting it in oils and a lot more.
Master Modeler Glenn Bartolotti has created quite a series with his "Step-By-Step Finishing Armor" series. Each of the volumes is a mini-master class in painting and weathering a specific armor kit or diorama. The paints, powders and washes are all clearly identified, along with pre-shading and other painting techniques.

Another masterpiece Glenn. Small and for lack of words, elegant. The choice of colors is spot on in my opinion. Looking forward to the next step. Thanks for sharing. God bless.

Glenn the little leaves you bought are Birch seeds I believe, my neighbor has them growing in his front yard and I took the kid and a ladder and picked a bunch of pringle cans full of them. They are about an inch long and when they dry you crumble them into those little leaf looking things. Hudson and Allen used to sell them and they became really popular. I really like those tiny leaves you found out hiking I wish I could find a bunch of those but I dont think we have those in Nebraska. They look like they would be good magnolia leaves for 1/35 maybe a hair to big but ??? Great video as always.

Thanks for the comment! Yes, those leaves that I find if the plant is really small then they are about perfect for 1/35 scale. It’s just hard to find the plants that small it can be done though and I’m gonna take a look this week or next week.

Hi Glenn Great work mate! It’s funny but the figure looks to be based on Dragon’s earlier style 1/35 figures. The stance appears be slightly unnatural, a somewhat uninteresting pose, the right arm looks like it’s paralysed and lifeless, just hanging too straight unlike the real thing. Even the uniform appears overly neat and not dishevelled if that makes sense. But I’m quite sure that you will inject some more life into it for sure!! Really looking forward to watching your next video mate ❤😊

Yes, these older dragon figures are based on the 35th scale sets. I had to do a lot to that right arm because it was hanging out to the side like he was a scarecrow almost I’m gonna have him holding the ammo canister so that way it’ll look like there’s some weight Pulling it down but I did not like the way it looked before when it was out away from his body. It looks silly even worse. These figures are not the best. I’m trying to make lemonade out of lemons, per se. Thanks for your comment!
