you need a gas powered and whole lot larger snow blower not an electric play toy that was made for dry snow! Is your tractor not running or have you sold that off too that should come in handy for moving that wood into the yard. Not the lawn tractor but the Ford Tractor

@ 6:51 "I'll tell you what's awkward, processing firewood covered in snow" Yes but Troy, who's fault is that? 😊 I realize that you hurt your shoulders, but.... Didn't you sell all or most of your processed firewood that was ready to burn? True, unexpected things happen. Which is why it is good to prepare for the worst. That is, keep enough processed firewood to get you through the winter. Anyway hope you can get through this winter ok. As for your **s clown neighbor... He won't have to worry about heat where he's going 😊

Actually no. I got injured with a whole lot of firewood laying around. But we burnt more this year than last year. That entire row of firewood racks by our garden was full and ready to go before winter set in. Its all gone. This out here was supposed to be brought over and split and stacked as I used the other stuff. I have more wood to process in the yard still but its all under snow. And there is more I can haul home when needed.

To bad you don't have any friends who could help you load up the wood and dump it next to the splitter. We and some other friends do that monthly for friends.

See you haven't bought a grain shovel to carve out snow paths after the snowblower.
@TheDoItYourselfWorld

No. Snow gets too heavy. The risk of heart attack is too big. I have had this shovel for years and its my favorite ever for this work.
@fredericknolan5420
@fredericknolan5420 5 месяцев назад
@@TheDoItYourselfWorld Those blade shovels cause the same heart problems too. Try making blocks of snow to keep snow from blowing path shut or make a v- blade mini snow plow.

Well my plan for this year was to use a big Massey tractor with loader I bought in the fall. But the tranny froze in gear. I only just found out how to fix that. Now it just sits and spins in the snow. Tire chains for this are $700. Insane!!! I am looking for scrap chain to make my own.

After I moved to the south my chain saw didn't work since I let it sit too long. I got a carb kit for it and replaced that and got it running again. We have another house in the mountains here with a wood burning stove and the chain saw came in real handy when we were living in that house. I bought a newer house and rented the one on the mountains and my wife is happier here also.

It's unfortunate that you are still stuck in the north. I have been very happy since I moved to the south. My wife and I homestead here and it's much easier than doing it in the north. I raised my own chickens and I enjoy it. Also, property taxes are a LOT lower than they are in New York state. I had a $30k house in NY, taxes- $1800. Here, $180k house, taxes - $500. We don't pay state income tax either. When I got to this area I looked up a friend I had in NY that I new moved to this state and found him not too far from me. Another friend and his wife were driving through and stopped in to visit. They are thinking about moving here also. We also made a lot of new friends and people here are much kinder than many I met in New York state. Other than the deep freeze we had recently here which hasn't happened in about 30 years, we rarely get freezing temperatures. Concerning electric powered equipment. I've found eGO to be the best. I have bought a few of their products and they are great and have power. The batteries are interchangeable also. I did buy a new John Deere 130 tractor for cutting the grass on my property and doing other things. I also bought a trailer for it which is a great help for moving heavy things. It's a great machine. It looks like you are struggling a lot with that snow blower you have. On my Camper Hollow channel I showed my eGO self propelled mower cutting 2 feet of grass and I didn't struggle doing it. I think they came out with a snow blower recently and it looks pretty good. You might want to consider getting one of those. Concerning the guy you said that comes to spy, it's too bad you're right along the road where anyone can look and see what you are doing. The area we use on our land for our chickens and gardens is located behind the buildings out in the back. I know how hard it is to cut and split wood. I used to do it with my dad when he was alive on his property in the southern tier of NY. In the south where I am these houses heat with electric and the bill isn't all that high. My house in NY costed about 4 times as much to heat.

When the snow is more fresh and lighter, you could perhaps use a leaf blower to clean off the wood. Idk just a thought.
