The Off Grid Project started out as a live in experiment about getting off the grid on a budget. Since then, back in 2012, it has evolved into a daily vlog of my life, sort of an off grid reality show.
I started out full time when I lost my job and apartment and moved into a camper during a blizzard. I barely had any light or heat. I started making daily videos and never looked back on the rat race.
Now I am married and living on an 18 acre homestead with my wife Melanie. We are striving to become self sufficient and fully off the grid on a budget. We hunt, fish, raise chickens and grow our own vegetables for food. We have solar panels, wind turbines and alternate energy devices.
Follow along on our daily path as we strive to become self sufficient and provide all our own needs. We study the old ways, buy second hand and build whatever we need to provide for ourselves.
I'm seeing this tonight many times in 2 different places in the sky then they disappear and then they appear again then I see 3 and then they just shoot off again. Wired but true
I've never worked on cars im really intimidated by the hole thing but after watching this video i was able to change my thermostat and my car is doing good
I go to RU-vid as I’m having the same issues as you with mine and what do I find my exact tiller in the first video , thank you for your video very helpful
Its not the 20 lb tank it's the hose you need the quick disconnect hose its the oil in the hose that why they say get the quick disconnect hose no oil build up
What length cable comes with it (from antenna to device in your house)? I would need about 50 to 60 ft. Which model do you have? They show several models on their website.
Great video and info! Thank you for taking the time. I do have a question however. You mentioned if you were to get rid of this mill, you would get the Woodland Mill. I am seriously considering a mill, actually got a quote. Went to order it and they wouldn't honor the quote, it was another $2100.00 more. There is more to the story but suffice it to say instead of pulling the trigger, the shot wasn't right so I put the safety back on! I just read some comments so I see you have gotten a different mill. I will check out your latest video as you said.
To prevent damage to the machine, only put a spinner load measure of clothes at a time into the wash part. 2.5KG (spin load) of dry cotton clothes will turn into 3.5KG (full capacity of the washer) when wet in the washer. Don't put more than one large thick bath towel or jacket or double duvet cover, or double sheet + pillowcases or boiler suit in, at a time, if you are washing these large items, and always keep the water topped up to maximum level. The agitator should be moving the water, not the clothes by themselves. If the agitator slows down, stop the machine immediately and take out the excess item and top water up to full again. Clothes can be rinsed and spun in the dryer. Don't use dryer unless it is at least 75% full of clothes, or at least one heavy item is in it; otherwise, it will damage the motor. Never run the wash motor with no or not enough water/too much weight of clothes or it will burn out and suddenly stop working. If you follow that advice, the machine will last for years and be very reliable if looked after and not overloaded in washer or underloaded in spinner.
Just saw that but brighter, moving fast, no noise. Again, ive seen these everywhere. However, the other night i saw two, with more of an orange-ish, colour. They were both moving at the exact same speed, in unison, fast, then both disappeared at the same time.
I have a harbor freight mill and the first thing I done was to remove the blade guide blocks,I used the original bolts and bought some washers for spacers and bought some small bearings I think they were 22 mm in diameter and I run 2 on top of the blade and 2 on the bottom. The blade when under load rides on the bearing surfaces and it does indeed extend blade life along with smoother cuts. You can buy these bearings and washers for near nothing, but always have spare parts.
Hey Troy, I though working on wood was tough but dealing with some of these subsvribers is far worse. I have been watching you for years and enjoy your videos - stay true to you and keep doing what you do...Proud of you brother!!!
Hi Mr Troy looooooooong time. You've been silent.. consider bears a treat. We don't have any of them in Africa to the best of my knowledge. Greetings from Namibia
Thanks for the tip. Any suggestions on core material? I have been saving up magnetite from my gold prospecting. Thinking of making cores for my Bedini motors.
@@TheDoItYourselfWorld use nano crystalline or special Y core from china, the core with highest permeability creates and flips flux with minimal amps; lower the permeability higher the amps required to create same amount of magnetic flux
Yup, would have been nice. Bank would not add it to the mortgage and we did not have the money or the time. Out here you are on a waiting list for 3 months for a survey last I checked.
Maybe I should mention Lewiston, MI. Small area. Very rural and fewer people but many people from the cities are moving up here the past years buying up land. Not a normal thing.
Troy, i have been watching you off and on for 11 years and during that time you made your life a major part of your channel, when you met Melanie and had fund raising to bring her here. The birth of your daughter was a part of your channel and the "homestead" was a major focus. Just tell your customers whats happening, be honest and move forward
I’m doing a similar thing for my quails using a large cat playpen and it’s coming along nicely so far, although a bit messy because I’ve been doing it on my own and haven’t been taking actual measurements. My only issue is that the zip ties at the ends keep making it difficult to fold it back in. Also the baby chicks are adorable and so is your daughter, what a precious little girl! I love that she gets to enjoy the chicks too. I had a cat named Tomcat too he was a stray that I took in, he was a beautiful big guy. Sadly he passed last year to eye cancer.
Oh it gets more messy. Too much for here. He moved the markers. Put a fence on my land. And is taking more and more of my land. Police do nothing. Say its a civil matter. Court could care less. Other surveys put neighbors into fights trying to move the old markers.
