GHAD-39 Real World Test Pt2 -- Following up on Part 1 spraying primer, I swap in my Iwata HP-C+ .3mm airbrush for a direct comparison test and refresh of baseline feel. From there, I switch back to the Gaahleri .35mm GHAD-39 setup and start to apply the first round of painting on the 1/35 GAZ-67B test model. It's a good time to be a modeler!

I'm glad to see an affordable option actually hitting the market. If I didn't already have a full flight of iwatas and was just about to spring on my first airbrush... I'd hope someone pointed me in this direction. (Love my iwatas though)

Brilliant video thanks. I'm looking to buy this airbrush so enjoyed your videos. I am a slow reader and found I had to keep pressing pause as the captions don't stay up for long.

Every time you post one of these I go to buy it, remember I spent $65 on a new Neo for this exact reason in July and talk myself out of it. I will I swear.

Very happy. Beautiful built airbrush, especially after factoring in the price point. Mine came in the mail yesterday. Broke it down and and checked all the parts. Tonight is airbrushing night.😊

Seems like a decent airbrush at a great price. Would be a good introductory brush for beginners on a budget. Thanks for the review and look forward to part 3.

More so because usually low-end airbrushes can cause more issues than help for new painters, and having a high performance value-priced option to learn with will go a long ways towards those buyers seeing success sooner = more enjoyment, longevity with the hobby, etc. Another topic we probably don't discuss enough and I'm happy to see this level of product available today to bolster growth.

Only having a small amount of airbrush experience myself I think I will probably invest in one of these to help me gain more experience before investing in a high end airbrush. As you said beginner's can see success sooner and getting enjoyment from that makes the learning experience easier to absorb and expand on.

Really like the video and all the information you're able to impart while talking through all your actions. Very well done. I will say I have this airbrush and I don't like it. The trigger is loose and floppy and have to pull it back too far in my opinion to get paint to flow. I own 3 other airbrushes from 3 different manufacturers and for each of those, when picturing the path of an airbrush trigger, I have to pull back no more than 25% to 30% to start paint flow. For the GHAD-39 it's at least 60% to 70%. Not only is this tough to get used to when swapping airbrushes often but varying the volume of paint during a painting session is much easier with a 75% trigger swing remaining than a 35%. I'd love to know if other's GHAD-39s have the same trigger pull as mine. If not perhaps this means my airbrush has an issue. Another issue I have is this is the only airbrush I own that when I place my finger on the trigger, it is "wedged" against the paint cup. 3rd complaint is the design of the paint cup. The paint schute for lack of a better word, is very deep or long and getting a qtip or bit of paper towel down in to the little puddle of paint around the needle not as effective because the long narrow schute limits the range of movement of said implement. I'm not an expert when it comes to airbrushing but I wouldn't consider myself a beginner either. rinaldistudiopress obviously has far more experience than I and his opinion should be given much more weight but I don't see a reason not to give out a second opinion for free as that's what a comment section is for.

Thanks and honestly reach out to Gaahleri direct, they’ll be more than happy to assist. That’s what they’re there for and support customers 100%. I suspect something isn’t seated properly or loose, but not having the airbrush here to disassemble myself I wouldn’t know for sure. If you’re capable, simply disassemble, double check installation and tighten accordingly as you reinstall the parts. My guess is the locking nut on the rear end of the needle isn't on properly and the needle isn't seated where it should be, and or the nozzle is loosely fitted under the cap and needs to be re-seated as well. It’s a natural part of cleaning anyway and all airbrushes are designed to breakdown in that manner. Good chance it fixes things, if not I’d contact Gaahleri. I picked up mine on my bench here and see or feel none of what you're describing and you can clearly the action in the videos while I paint and clean, including the needle and nozzle installation. On the cup design and feeding chute into the airbrush, I mentioned the same to them and it was noted for future development, as yes it's a bit harder to clean down in there because there's a couple sharper angles at the junction. Albeit nothing major if you stay on your cleaning chores, as I note repeatedly. Lastly, I'm holding the airbrush in my hand as we speak, and the distance to the cup where the finger rests on the trigger is the same across all of mine, so not sure what's up on your end. In fact, overlaying it over my HP-C it's identical dimensionally in that area, also easy to see on the videos too.
