Dude, I have no interest in gunpla, but Id watch you weather anything! It’s cool to see how transferable OPR is to any sort of model. There is a large crowd of gunpla/gundam and 40K people that you need to reach with this!
Hello micheal i have a question, do you leave your oil paints to dry in the cardboard for hours? Does it make a big difference? And when blending oil colors like oil dots, its better a slightly wet brush or a dry brush? Cheers and waiting for the OPR book TG. 02! 🎉
Hey Mike - if you mean before starting with a palette, long enough to get the linseed oil soaked up. You can visually see it happening.I keep the palette in a plastic container in the freezer in between, lasts about a month of use. I don't do the oil dot technique... & the amount of thinner on the brush changes constantly. I recommend the OPR playlist on the channel and start going thru them, a lot of discussion/demos on these questions regularly ;)

Thank you Mike, this was amazing. I loved how, after being through some stages of weathering, you changed the whole thing with the q-tip and blending of different, more greenish hues, it gave so much more depth to the model. You are right in that these small models can be a great training tool - I'd say the same goes with some Sci-Fi models, like the WH40k armour, where you are even more free to experiment and test similar techniques to your heart's content 🙂. There’s a lot you can do with detailing on these models. Every stowage box, even in this scale, can be a model in itself if you put in the hours. This is super cool!
They're a great canvas, someone just needs to print new track/road wheels sets and these are potential game changers...wait til you see the JS-2 coming up
I’ve been working on a full interior T72 in 1:100 using CAD. Got the proper suspension milling files and converted them to be printable in scale. With modern printers you can get 35th detail in any size.
@@rs.p interesting, we have a totally different approach. My wings are mostly done with all decals installed and weathered, before going onto the fuselage. Wish I could be able to post pictures to show. I love the different methods, always open to learn and compare. Cheers mate!

@@rs.p I bought Meng Willys for a fun, next I find old Italery M100 trailer which I tried to build around 2004, assembled it, and now I waiting for TAKOM Willys with trailer and assembling Bronco jeep crew in Normandy. Willys jeep addiction)))
