Welcome To My Video - Part 2:
This bicycle tour of Wallingford, Connecticut had me searching for autumn colors in this… my childhood home town. The colors were not quite peak at the time of my ride but, from the seat of my bike, the autumn palette was beautiful. This is the second of two videos covering this ride and this Part 2 video had me exploring the more rural east side of town.
Join me on this ride as we soak in the foliage around a beautiful Reservoir and then follow the steps of our first President up the steep George Washington Trail - bathed in golden color. We then catch the views of the Quinnipiac River Valley from the crest of Whirlwind Hill, take a quick visit to the Guiveia Vineyards, and then stop for a snack at a local farm store that has been peddling fresh veggies since 1895. Before returning to our in-town start point I rode to the neighborhood of my youth and was lucky enough to run into and spend time with a playmate from 65+ years ago. Lingering on his front porch cut the ride just a bit short but was well worth the memories we dug up during our 45 minute chat.
