I love videos where you just show the process even when it doesn't go the way you want. This happens to all of us but sometimes on RU-vid it can feel like everyone else is perfect at everything and wonder what's wrong with me that I don't get it right on the first try. These turned out so beautiful in the end!

I simply get so upset sometimes when I see all the fun I could be having with all the new products I stocked my room up with 2 years ago! I bought the large foam after first buying 8 small ones when they were new by accident! And I have never used it! I love the circle but I could use a stencil mask and mask it off and Voile! Just fantastic Marion! You are truly an amazingly talented card maker! How I know how much better I could be if I could have time to live and not just work like a man and woman everyday whilst disabled twice! Just beautifully done!❤

If you made a small circle mask on the gel plate, you could make a sea urchin, sea shell card with that stencil. Every move you make, I see another step along. ❤🇦🇺

Sometimes I use a thin layer of glass bead gel with my stencils. You can mix in a touch of paint beforehand, for added color. Pearlized paint in it looks lovely.

wow so many ideas and everyone of them a gem, loved the finished card you did with the 'under the sea' (btw I think it resembled a sea urchin), the foil one was stunning as was the last one did with the powders, I need to make a card for my son's birthday (in his 40's) and have pulled out a couple of stencils to use only problem is I now can't decide which of your options to use, thanks again for showing us so many great ideas.

I'm allergic to latex (aka natural rubber) so I always use a silicone mat when dry embossing stencils. I haven't been game to try it with dies yet in case they cut the plate. My crafting often goes haywire🙄so I felt quite reassured watching this Marion🤣. Lots of great ideas as usual.

Another great video, thanks Marion! I absolutely LOVE stencils - I never ever have to buy any though 😃 as I have the ScanNCut SDX2250D which is just absolutely magic for cutting stencils, can create the same stencil in multiple sizes.. And I agree about dry embossing, it’s a fabulous technique to use with stencils! A good friend gave me their old BigShot so I could do dry embossing with stencils - Sizzix now do a grey rubbery mat for embossing.

Might I suggest that wow make polished silver in an Ultra High? For those of us who are sick of every blessed thing in our industry having a gold shimmer or gold this or that. It’s the same in the mail industry with powders and polishes. Gold, gold, gold. I’m the one who begged Simon to make a silver lunar paste! But wouldn’t THAT be fun Marion! Ultra High polished silver! Yes! Please!

Oh also, we can create paper stencils using dies too. If you use a heavier card stock they are pretty durable.

You should be able to gel press through a stencil, too, like you tried at first, but I think that particular stencil just has too-small holes for the paper to have "pressed through" the thickness of the stencil. I love the way you just try things to see what happens.

Hi Marion just found your channel enjoying the first two videoss but two things first what would have happened if you did the small dots next to the card and the big dots behind it on the dbossing give it a try maybe you would have got the desired result. Also re gel plates a warning please please take of those mylar sheets and reuse them for another project I cut mine up dor home made stencils and store your gel plates with just a sheet of copy paper next to the the mylar can cause stippling or bumps on your gel plates. cheers

Oh Marion, anemone, da da da da da, I sang it with you. We were def on the same wavelength, but then, I'm a mad English woman too. 😂 I wonder if the rest of the world got it. I love your videos, they're so real. I hate some of the polished videos with mono tone commentary recorded over the top.

I have been on a mad rush of buying stencils now I have been looking at them going ... ok where do I start? I am so happy to have found you tonight very serendipitous. Unfortunately I just ordered from SSS otherwise I would def have used your links. I ordered Simon Hurleys Solar Paste and Lunar paste I am so excited! Next time :) I will be rewatching at normal speed and will try out your techniques. I have other mediums that will (probably) work similar to what you have used. If I wasnt so tired I would start right now! lol Thank you for the inspiration and fun, you were just what I needed.

You’re so welcome 🥰🥰 so many mediums work with stencils, they’re fab !!! Oh I haven’t got any solar paste yet, but it’s on my list, but I do have some lunar paste and that works great, have lots of fun with all your stencils 🥰🥰🥰

Remember how I raved about the chrome plates? I bought 2 even to use together. Well they both curled so badly I could return one but not the other! I still have it sitting on my desk from last year to email sizzix! The plastic came away from the chrome piece- the backing! SO DISAPPOINTED! They’re fabulous for not marking chrome and metallic or mirror cardstock! But! I have a switch and they have far more pressure than the hand grind! I do loads of die cutting and it’s the best purchase I ever made for my stamp room!

@@marionemberson that switch is the best investment in my room! I hurt my arm badly hand cranking out 40 Christmas cards one year! 3 layer die cut plus sentiment! It’s worth every penny but yes. Lots of pressure.

Tip: when lining up your stencil the second time, look on which side you put your tape which is still attached. I think that’s why you couldn’t line up the small dots at first. The tape was on the back of the stencil running it through. But when lining up to ink it, if that’s what you’re doing, the tape looked like it was on the top. Did that make sense?

@@marionemberson I got you girl! My tiny contributions! Lol loving that Arts glue huh? Me too! I use rangers multi medium matte I put in bottles for certain sentiments or main things that won’t show any glue squeeze out if I miss it. But that arts glue is the best for tiny sentiment die cuts! Just used it on Zsokas word dies the disco style. Perfect! Nice tiny dots! I’m so glad you liked it and can get it now! SBC just came out with one I think is supposed to be the same thing. I got it free on my last order! I still haven’t tried the free smart glue I have! I’m stocked! But yet, always think I need more! 😂

@@marionemberson yes love. It feels wonderful to be making cards again. But unfortunately it’s only because I’m so debilitated from not having pain medication. And that has become unbelievable! I have no dr other than my dr now since I can’t get into the new one and they want updated images. And my dr will not order an MRI to find out why my hands going numb(cervical vertebrae issue), and why I can’t stand up!

Gelli arts says to not put the acetate covers back …they can cause bubble marks Use copy paper. It will not dry out the plate

On the dalias, after sprinkling on dried duo, and adding foil, I wonder if the heat from a laminator would just be hot enough to remedy the sticky duo or if it would shrivel up the metallic powder. Laminators don’t get that awful hot. I’m thinking it may make the foil and sparkles really stick. But idk. 🧐

You can use the duo hot or cold, and wow sparkles are a very high quality so they wouldn’t melt 😊😊

I think you can, I’m trying to find mine to give it a go, I want to try as normally with gilding flakes you rub them in and I’m not sure if it would ruin the transfer gel, if it works I’ll do a quick video 🥰🥰🥰

I was just thinking that the twister stencil could be used with the Simon Hurley foam circle. You can make an impression and then put your ink onto the foam if you were looking just for the dots. Maybe? It might work? It might not! 😂🤣😂
