If you click "SHOW MORE" in the description above your be able to see Links to the Tools 🔧🔨🔧 I use. Also Clickable Chapters📋 📙 throughout the video and other Links 🎬 that may be of interest. I've had a few viewers request where they can buy the tools they see in some of my videos but it's not very clear that the "SHOW MORE" tab has a lot of information in that may be of interest. Admittedly the amazon links are associated with me and I would earn a small commission which helps towards keeping the channel funded.
I purchased the Haynes Repair Manual. Not sure I spent my money well. After watching these videos, I feel I could complete this process start to finish with great confidence. I saved all of them. The typical repair manuals jump all over the place. This is start, to finish. I love the honesty in the video. One other positive comment, the majority of other videos focus on "S" models. You have provided me with great confidence.
How much would this cost if paying a garage to do it? No idea if mine needs doing (engine sounds fine) but have been told by numerous people that because of the cars age and mileage, it does need doing.
I guess it wouldn’t be ideal as the two cogs will have worn with the chain so you might increase the wear on the new chain as its running on cogs out of tolerance so may not last as long. I guess if your chain is about to snap it might be better than doing nothing but it’s better if you can change all the items.
@@CoatsandGaiters Thanks, I think it's the original. Bmw don't recommend anything it seems. My 2001 r50 has 165000km and has never been changed. Except for a few seconds at start up I can't hear the chain. Excellent tuto, thank you very much.
@@Keller68190 Thank you for the comment. This is a car that came to me with the slapping chain sound but to be honest I'm wondering if it was just the tensioner as I cannot see any damage anywhere.
