QUICK AND EASY , SOFT AND TASTY BUTTER NAAN.(ASIAN FLAT BREADS)
NORMALLY BAKED IN A TANDOOR .
Learn how to cook easily at home without a tandoor.
*Makes 6 medium size naans.
* Special equipment needed
-Tawa or frying pan
-Rolling pin and board
INGREDIENTS:
_ 2 cups Plain Flour (maida)
_ 4 Tbsp Yoghurt
_ 1 tsp baking powder
_ 1 tsp sugar
_ 1/2 tsp salt
_ 2 Tbsp cooking oil
_ Little water for kneading.
_ 25 gms butter
_1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves or parsley
PROCESS:
_ Make a soft dough by Mixing Flour, Yoghurt, Baking powder, sugar, salt, oil and using water while kneading. Cover and let it rest for an hour in a warm place.
_ After an hour the dough will be more soft and it will also rise a bit. Knead again.
_ Take whole of the flour and make a big ball. Roll it and divide it into equal parts. ( I made it into 6 parts) Make into balls.
_ Now take one ball . Flatten it with hand. then roll it on the board with rolling pin into required size using dry flour to avoid sticking.
_ Heat the pan . Take the rolled naan shake the dry flour by patting it between your two hands (as we do to make a chapatti )
_ Apply water on one side and place it slowly on the pan. Reduce heat and let the naan cook.
_ Once the bubbles appear, flip to cook on the other side.
_ Cook the other five .
_ mix the green leaves in melted butter and apply on all the naans.
Serve hot and soft naans with achaar gosht.
