I am finally working on this beautiful pattern. I am so grateful that you walk us through the entire sections, you make it so easy where I can’t give up because either memory or lack of memory or having to rewind to complete the row. I’m excited to complete this. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I LOVE rain! I love it so much, I moved to the Pacific Northwest! Well, in reality, we had to move here for my husband's job. But it was and still is one of my favorite things about living here! People told me I'd get sick of it real fast. But it's been almost 7 years and I still love it! Much better than the "seasons" in Los Angeles, which are "Summer" and "Literally the fires of Hell" 😆

I've also been wanting to learn & CONQUER this dounting?sp pattern for me. I had a co-worker yrs ago that whipped through it like lightening & said OH you'll love it ! This was when I 1st was learning to crochet so I always thought it would be easy enough to learn but it seems to elude be each time I try. This shawl I like the best bc it doesn't look so fragile like most pineapple patterns with the fine thread type yards. I take it I can find the 1st half easily. I have some beautiful med gray Alpaca wool that would be perfect for this project. It's way too warm for even a vest for me in my post menopause yrs. Holy MOLY... I'm 74 & nobody ever said "heat waves" would still be a problem. GEEEEZ ! !

I am binge watching the creation of this shawl. It is so beautiful! Lace is fascinating to me and several years ago I started out with lace knitting (mainly Shetland and Estonian patterns) because I was more familiar with knitting than with crochet… and discovered that as long as your tension is right, it.s basically just working with thinner yarn. I was hooked. The added perk is that I got to give beautiful gifts to friends and family without breaking the bank which was a blessing as I’d hot upon hard times: several skeins of gorgeous yarn are always less expensive than designer clothing and my time is free. It was therapeutic as well. I’ve got an Estonian lace shawl that I’ve almost finished and I was looking for a new project… and saw this! I’ve got enough cotton in the right gauge in my stash to make myself a trial piece, see how it goes. If it works out (I think it will, I think I’ve done enough crochet to follow along through this repeat) I’m either going to power through the entire shawl with the cotton I’ve got, or I’m going to try to work out how to make this in the lace weight yarn I use for my Shetland and Estonian knitting. I know just who I’d give that shawl to if that works! Thank you so much for making this series and firing up my enthusiasm for crochet! P.S: Love your style of videos and your personality. Please keep publishing videos. I’ve got a feeling I’m going to make a lot of your projects!
