I loved this pattern. I ended up using this to stash bust some Mandala yarn I couldn't decide on a project for. 1500 yards later and I have a shawl big enough to wrap me and a small child in. Thank you for this tutorial. It's the frist one of yours I've followed, but it won't be the last.

Exquisite pattern, Craig. I don’t know how you figure it all out, but you have been gifted with fortitude, patience, and an incredible mind of creative intelligence. Plus a unique spirit of generosity to share it all with us. Kudos to you, my dear, for turning an earlier life of strife into joy and positive fulfillment. You embody the phrase “Be the change you wish to see in the world”. I chose to use LB’s Feels Like Butta in pink for my shawl, and completed it with 5 pineapples. I used 1 skein and just a bit of another.Gorgeous! Please remain a light in the darkness, and help lead our world into an evolving state of consciousness!

Wanted to say THANK YOU for your tutorials. I just completed this pineapple shawl and love hownit turned out. I only went as big as 5 pineapples and I used one skein of Caron One Pound yarn . My crocheting is loose so it came out to the perfect size. You are a great teacher, easy to follow and explain things very well.

This pattern turned out to be almost like a knitting pattern where you really just have to "read your stitches" from the previous row to know what to do with the next one. That, and remember to start the increase round every 7 row. Thanks for going to extra mile to get everyone this far and how to do the finishing work. It made it so I can keep going without consulting the videos now which I didn't even know was possible LOL.

I would like to thank you for giving me the pleasure of making this project with you, I would like to start off by saying that i appreciate that you were very thorough it was an easy project and that i was able to keep up with you the whole way unlike some videos they fly threw and i have a hard time keeping up, grant it i have made alot of mistakes and with my OCD i tore it out several times just to fix all of them cuz i want it to look perfect. Again thank you, i have made my first shawl ever and hope to make more in the future.

I love this pattern and though as I look at it, I have made a few mistakes, in the grand scheme of things they aren’t that noticeable. Thank you Fiber Spider, fir making me push myself to something harder. 💕

Thank you so much! I’we watched this entire pineapple shawl series back to back and throughout I was wondering how the finished edging was going to be tackled. You made it all make sense and easy to follow. You have a gift and following along made me feel like I was following along with a friend who was patiently teaching me how to make this shawl. I definitely al going to make this and feel that even though my crochet projects these past years have always been simple ones I can make this. I’ve only got around one afternoon’s worth of finishing up my knitting project and already got out the yarn and my crochet hook to start on this. Gone is the no-project-planned anxiety. I need a project to decompress from the challenges life in general and my job throw at me. This work is even going to accompany me to the office. We’ve got a mandatory 1-hour lunch break and the weather isn’t conducive to going for a walk to fill up that hour after the 5-10 minutes it takes me to eat… now I have something to do that forces me to switch off from my job during that time. THANK YOU! Keep being your wonderful self and stay safe.

I have only just re-discovered an interesting fact about Victorian era triangle "shawls". They were worn with the Point of the Triangle, not at the bottom, but at the top! over the head! acting like a stylized hood. So the bottom "point" of the traiangle was often a shallow V -(since it was to frame the top of the face.) This pattern brings that to mind.

My mom was prolific at making pineapple doilies. Back in the early 1950s, women starched them so the ruffles would stand up nice and stiff. Fancy lamps stood in the middle. Doilies were placed all over the living room. They were created without starch as dining room tablecloths as well. My mom kept those large cotton crochet threads in ivory or off-white with her next to her chair all the time.
@gregoryvozar6236
@gregoryvozar6236 3 года назад
@Karen McCaslin I’m lucky enough to have inherited a stack of those doilies that my mum & gran crocheted years ago. I’ve also got their well-used steel crochet hooks. My treasure. In part, that’s what inspired me to pick up hook & yarn a few years back. Bless our mums!
