Hi Dan Thanks a lot for these helpfull videos. I've got a 997, but the roof mechanism is .. the same. Concerning lube. As you mention often, we need to be very carefull and find the balance between "sufficient lubrification" and grease and dirt "jam". I personnaly use a "dry" lubricant such as PFTE that you can find easily. Regards

Both sides not removable as a whole but you can disengage them from the circular clip then manually side them up and down to clean and lube and check the rail they sit it 👍 hope this helps ... are you in uk ? I now offer a targa roof service/clean/lube/diagnosis? And thanks for your kind words
Hi Dan great videos. I've got a 2003 Targa. My roof after no use through winter was fine to open but slow to close stopped half way. Now closed after a few attempts but could you post another video showing how to remove the clips / curtains and clean inside the channels? Would a silicone lube to suitable as it's thin and rubber friendly?
I didnt do one on that particular part but its basically a circlip just use long nose pliers to get the bent part of clip and pull it off quiet easy to get off fildly to put back on if you have sausages for fingers like me lol...thanks for the nice comments I'm glad the videos are of help 👍
The curtain is held on a stork at the top with a sort of circlip washer ...you need long nose pliers to remove the clip then unhook the curtain off the stalk if that makes sense ?
