@Markstrosity He blocked 4 combinations of AK. Your comment shows that you don't actually know what blockers are, along with the fact that you have no clue what the difference is between long run and short run results

It's either a K or nothing I think. Right? All mid pairs are eliminated once he value bets river so it a 12% he has the king as a default. Dneggs got near 3 to 1 on his chips. He 3 bet 14% of the time opening his range to fit some bluffs. I think it's close. I'm not certain. I think you fold more often with some calls. That's a tuff tuff spot. Like Dneggs said about not being exploitable. I think the call is good because of the lose 3 bet. That's exploitable. I wonder if he would do that with QJ. Not a good move. Does he check AJ or bluff it. Matching AJ vs kq and AK and kj. I think that means he is lying 25% of the time and being honest the other 75%. It seems to be near even. He was getting slightly under 3 to 1 so it leans fold. Curious how you see it? Does my math make sense? Sometimes I think I'm missing something in the math. I love poker when we get deep like this.

I used to watch you way back when. Followed the small ball series and managed to do start doing pretty well. Always been a recreational micro player and doing this for fun but it's great improving as well, you know? Took a long time away from it all and tried playing the same way but poker has progressed since then. Things didn't really go that well with what I knew from before, so I thought: Should probably check out Daniel again. Seems like I'm having similar success with following your strats now as back then. Currently at second place in a knock out tournament with only 80 players left and have called or done plays I otherwise wouldn't have. Love that you're sharing what you know with people like me, makes poker so much more fun.

Amazing series, really well-edited, instructive, and of course entertaining! I think my favorite moment was the tricky hand at 12:29 (J-8), where Daniel's initial impulse was to put in a blocking bet on the river, but then realized his opponent would never call that bet with a worse hand. But Daniel could call a bet, so he checked. But it's natural to put in an "emotional" bet in order to avoid a scary bluff situation. But as Daniel said, "Why would you want to stop a bluff? That's plus EV for you!" It was well-played and well-explained.

With the Jack's he checked twice and bets half pot. This is a call all day long.. he wouldn't check the ace twice and he I think he checks the river with a queen. It's a risky value bet and betting that Q river will open you up to get exploited. Very well played Dneggs. My mind is blown. It's ticking and picking up valuable information.

While I appreciate Daniel encouraging us not to play scared, a blocker bet is usually called such because it “blocks” your opponent from laying a huge bet on you when you’re out of position. Even Daniel’s friends at MasterClass acknowledge this: “Making a small blocking bet though will usually be enough to dissuade them from raising unless they have a monster hand.” So maybe Daniel should rename his bet in this spot as it has a different desired outcome.

Another reason to block bet small is because its hard to have any bluffs... When theres barely any bluffs in your range compared to value its best to bet small instead of big, he also has lots of 88-TT in that spot

You could also block the j8 thinking that the stronger Jx in his range is not strong enough to check raise, but he may go for thicker value with his better Jx if you check, ie b40-b75, you could b25-30 block while getting value from his weaker hands and losing less from the stronger Jx, you are kinda protected too because it’s not like you don’t have trips and FH’s in your range. As everyone knows you can get very tricky with your monsters!

Interesting that Daniel decides to go down so slowly the shorter the stacks get from 2.5 to 2.0 - the multisize simulations I've seen recently show that even in 6max cash games the lowjack prefers a size of 2 and cutoff prefers 2.2. I guess this format is different?
