Awesome stuff man, I also had the same pull starter problem with my 45cc,there is another type of easy start pull starter, with different internals which I am now using and it’s a lot easier to start, and going well 💥💥👍
Hello, I really liked your video, and I was wondering by your experience. What cc engine model would be better to make mods and get the best of it? The 36cc or the 45cc?
I am considering on getting a 45 I want something that will do 65 70 butt I still want to be able to pop the front wheels up what gearing should I use or should I use a 3-speed what would you recommend
My 45cc just runs warmer than any other engine I've had before. Drilling that pull start will help out with just letting in more air which is always a good thing bro. Never had mine over heat and sieze up though. That carb is basically a 1107 pretty sure of that. I've got several gallons put through mine no issues other than initial break in and the original pull start crapped out.
My stock pull start works fine after I loosened the screw in the back that holds it in place and if no dirt gets in there . My friend Paul got one also but he ripped his shit apart lol 😂!!! Fucking guy is ruff as hell! I rebuilt it back for him ! Damn spring came out . I’m just going to get rid of mine and use different setup but I may show how to rebuild the stock pull system in a future video before I give it away
@@BOTAJELL awesome BRAAP brother! Yah I'm buying another 45cc for my MTXL once I get the money to send it off and get some mods done to it. Keep the brappness alive.
No there both great and the ones that are Nylon plastics are the best but even the regular ones are durable. Only the engines are different in quality. I find that the Rovan Engines are best and last the longest threw most abuse over the King Motor Engines But most of the time someone that buys a king motor Baja to race or to bash are going to install there engine of choice! Everyone i know that live near me do this and also hundreds of my subscribers do the same
Botajell i bought quiet air compressors from harbor really is nice in the house for hobbys i used hell out of it left plug in 24 7 lasted 3 months rc in daily also everything else i beileve start cap went bad leaving plugged in so dont shy away if you buy or reccomend but get medium or large one not smaller one get 2yr extended i think you bought one already not mistaking but great use in your truck too if have invertor im you have air for horns tho
Thanks for the info! Yes I got one but have not yet unboxed it to use it yet. I got the bigger one . That other garbage shit small one I got in the basement just for rc shit is so Fn terrible that it’s not even Funny ! I don’t care if it was free or if you paid me to use it ! Even at filling basketballs 🏀 for my kids it’s shit!! This new bigger quite one should be nice I hope and I will beat on it also like taking it with me to bash events in the future. If it craps out on me ? I will never buy another one from there ! I saw a real nice compressor for RC that was a 6 gallon and a CRAFTSMAN and made in the USA 🇺🇸 at LOEWS the other day on sale for 99 bucks ! I almost bought it but I haven’t even used this new quite shit from HF yet 😂
Hey man...i have the same model but i noticed tht i have to push the accelerator upto one quarter for it to start moving on the receiver. What may be the issue?
Yes you can and in another future video I will have to bring up some news about that because all of the new Rovan Baja 5B 45cc’s come now stock out the box with all heavy duty metal gears ⚙️ and bigger clutch bell shaft and a 19 tooth pinion unlike the smaller one I have with 17 tooth .
I seen one of your videos and you show the drag pipe exhausts for your baja. I'm going to have to save for one but can you tell me where I can get one? I'm slowly piecing together a drag build and have a basic box exhaust and would really like to know where you got em. Awesome video, the 45 looks to be a beast 💪👌
I like it a lot and I’m looking forward on having some more fun with it soon . I’d like to add some minor things to it also . I will keep it simple so it will be ready to Brappp & bash
@@BOTAJELL hopefully you will Let us know which minnor Upgrades you gonna do.... all Engines in my RC Running a lil bit rich thats what i like so i Think im Doing fine with the 45 rovan Engine
great video bro. i do believe that is the stander gear set up 57t spur & 17t pinion but i could be wrong. yeh the kid knows what a good basher is SAVAGE for life. :)
Lol 😂👍💥👊💥!! Yes mine is the 17 tooth and that’s what came with the first gen rovan Baja 5B 45cc . Remember I got there last batch last year in August . All new Rovan Baja 5B 45cc’s come with 19 tooth’s and HD metal spur gear ⚙️ and Bell
yep you right my brother. i am not surprise that they come with a new gearing as they have plenty of low end but not so much top end. can wait to see what gearing you going for.
This rovan Baja 45cc buggy was bone stock out the box I did nothing to it . It was a blast we all had lots of fun with it that day. Now you got me wanting to run it again 😂🤝💥👊💥
@@BOTAJELL awsome jb, whats optimal running temperature 200? I have rovan 36 i need choke partially closed or dont run right even if i richen her up you think bc use higher octane and low compression or i only have oiled foam i also have ventury thing on end carb
I was thinking if had original gooffy box with pre and regular filter run fine but with just the kandn style its not getting enough fuel what my doing wrong master ik im trying cut corners still go fast i shoukdve just put obr in her
Paul Clancy I don’t care or tune to temperature 🤒!!! I only worry about temps in the beginning when I break in a new engine especially when I do a few heat cycles on it! After that I only run and drive and tune my engines to my liking of how they sound and look and feel!! If it sounds good and looks good and feels good non stop and with no changes? It’s Good !!
Hiya john I'm in need of some help from you again my baja going great but I'm having problems with the steering servo it's started going full lock and juddering and won't reset and doesn't stop twitching I can't believe it's fucked up already but iv been having some fun playing in the fresh cut field next to my house all week till this happened today would you say this servo is fixable or better looking for a new one john iv just ordered the metal servo saver today before I went out to play lol just my luck :-?
The main problem most of the time is that most newbies won’t adjust there steering or throttle/Break End Points !! Then over over work there servos and that will cause a short life !Now sometimes the professionals or experienced guys can get a shity stock servo once in awhile so don’t feel bad just upgrade to a real servo like something from HiTec or Savox then readjust endpoints . Bro you got a great RC for the price trust me and with the money you save you can very easily get some real servos in there trust me ! I have built many cars from scratch and even bought same platforms from different makers and way over paid for what I got . Anyways good luck 🍀👍 with everything and stay in touch with me to let me know what exactly happened or what route you took to fix
@@BOTAJELL thanks very much john I couldn't afford a HiTec this week but I ordered a S8218 40KG DIGITAL SERVO and the day after buying one I took the servo out & opened it and found one of the little plastic lugs broken from the casing I took the gears out and took a tiny fragments of plastic out put it back together and it fine john iv been ripping about in the field for two day's and it's fine Bro I adjusted it so it not getting full lock on the steering with this plastic servo saver lol I did have another issue at the end of the day Lastnight I lost spark the coils fucked >:) already but I took my chainsaw coil out and popped it in and I'm back up and running again :-D happydays Bro it's back in the field Braaaaaaaping and singing sweet tunes wooooohoooooo have you ever tried replacing the HT LEAD on one of these coils john if not I mite just have a fix for this Bro old motorbike HT LEAD soldered in and hopefully it works I'm going to give it a try plus can you tell me what size of HITEC servo to get I may awell Bay two and two good throttle servos to be on the safe side my friend spairs for the toolbox :-) happydays
I bet when you took the tumble after the jump your motor came loose and when you punched it it was barely touching the sput gear....cool car though def worth the money!
To be honest I don’t know 100% yet because I have not gone over it yet but when I do I will definitely bring it up. I think you hit the nail on the head and that could be of how that happened but I did not check yet.
Did Rovan change the gearing size on the 46cc compared to the other models? Could also be a result of more wheelies. Man, those gears got toasted! BRaaaaaaaP
Hello brother from UK. Hows life been with the rovan 45. I'm thinking of buying one but have been put off by my yama 1/5 30cc baja style buggy. It was only 400 quid and have had nothing but problems and the company I brought it off are fkin arsholes. The warranty ain't worth the ink it was writ with. Interested in your feedback brother. Enjoy your vids . Happy motoring my friend
BOTAJELL, I'm thinking hard about getting one of these Roven Baja 5B 45cc. My other option is the Primal RC Raminator. Had HPI Baja 5b SS at one time but sold it. Really want a gas RC Brap machine! I know the Raminator is more expensive but if I could only have one which would you prefer since you have both machines? Appreciate it! Brap on!
O man this is a hard question to ask me bro! This is what I can honestly tell you , Just start off somewhere because your missing out on the fun . I say get all of them from 4 wheel drive Rovan LT to Baja 5B or Max-T or both and let’s not forget the monster of all monsters the PRIMAL MT !! Don’t over think things just start off somewhere then continue on with your collection as time goes by
@@BOTAJELL Thanks for the reply man! I have a XMAXX and fly large scale gas planes but have always loved the buggies, trucks and monster trucks. Started out with the old T-Maxx nitro truck and also had the HPI Savage nitro monster truck. Really like the gas buggies/trucks. Not a lot of time to fly so gas buggies/trucks are the next best thing. Appreciate the feedback brother and keep on brapping! Thanks!
@@BOTAJELL One other question on the 45cc Roven Baja 5B. I see you swapped the pipe from the duel pipe stock setup to the single pipe. Do you recommend swapping the pipe to the one you're using on your buggie? Thanks!
RC_Feen yes I love that new Bartolone side Pipe just made just for the Rovan 45cc engine. www.rovanrc.com/product-rvbartmax5t I will be getting another one for my future Baja Buggy build . One day when the new Bartolone/ROVAN ReedCase 45cc engine is available it will even work and sound so much better with that pipe ! I hate rear exhaust setups because they are rear anchors and they bend all the time when you really bash your rc’s .
Stephan Cobb here’s the link www.rovanrc.com/1/5-buggy/1/5-scale-2019-45cc-gas-baja-buggy-ready-to-run-with-new-dual-outlet-pipe/ and you can use RVPCD5 for a discount code
What a shame john you killed it on its first wee outing |-O is it a good idea to put a mesh plate underneath between the crankcase and pullstart to stop the grass getting in and if yes what's a good size of mesh to use I have got a full set of outerwears but I'm going to be running around in fresh cut farmers fields and thinking about all the grass and hey getting in john
Definitely don’t do the mesh plate because you will still get dirt in there and grass debris then it will be harder to come out when used compressed air ! I have done many mesh mods in the past even with screen and it still sucks compared to Outerwears material. This is the one we both need to do to our 45’s ! www.davesmotors.com/outerwears-crankcase-flywheel-cover-for-g320-rc-engines.html
@@BOTAJELL cool thanks for that it looks like a bite of a job doing the mesh mod lol john I was looking up metal spur gears on eBay and noticed 56T & 57T what size of pinion gear would you use with these size of spurs john
Will fpv I’m gonna go with a 19 tooth with mine or whatever I have laying around so when I change the pinion gear ⚙️ I will have the spur to match it! Also just a heads up , every new Rovan Baja 5B 45cc you buy now comes with HD metal gears gears ⚙️ and bell right out the box
@@BOTAJELL cool thanks very much john I got the metal 57T spur it was £21 pounds and it arrived yesterday my friend and iv got good news my baja arrived in UK & will be delivered in 3 days woohoo I wanted to ask you what type of petrol do you run the baja on John and where do you purchase your grafight silicone grease you use on the pullstart im better baying some aswel john
Will fpv I burn Ethanol free CAM-2 100 Octane from Sunoco fuels and the oil I only use is called Dominator Oil from AMSOIL and I mix at 28:1 and the Silicone spray I love to use is also from Amsoil. The Graphite spray can be from anyone as long as it dries up and the Graphite stays on part ! CRC makes a good one .
There both still holding up! Don’t worry so much because after you kill whatever engine you learn on just upgrade to a different engine or rebuild what you have and move on . I say if you don’t like a Baja that wheelies all the time and like more RPMs go with the 30.5 or 32. If you like the torque and the wheelies ? Go 45 plus you can always play with gears Also to cut down on wheelies and get more top speed but that’s all up to you how you like to drive and where you drive and if it’s on road or off road
I’m a fan of the 30.5s especially a good one that’s Modified. Great 👍 power and lots of RPM’s with those . But if you into the torque at an amazing price ? Definitely try out this Rovan 45cc it’s not bad at all . I’m a fan and I’m happy I got one and it may not be my last either.
