Unfortunately with all of these fees and hoops to jump through, it makes it impossible for the average Filipino to legally own a firearm. While ALL Filipinos are supposed to have the right to own a firearm, with all of these fees it’s basically limited to the wealthy. In California we have a “10 day wait” from the time that you purchase until you can pick up your firearm, even if you already own multiple firearms.
@buildingthephilippines

You are correct, it makes it almost impossible for the average person to legally own. Waiting period is a good thing.
@greg3296

The waiting period is just another violation of the constitution. Our government is way too big now looking to take more and more. Commiefornia lets violent criminals out early because of failed liberal politicians then there is havoc.

Hi Wilma and. Hey, I would really look into defending against animals (prince). I have been a law enforcement officer since 2003, and normally, animals are not included in defending your home to qualify for shooting someone. We only get away with it because our K9 units are considered police officers like us. Please just get clear clarification if you can defend Prince like he's a human being and not have any backlash or repercussions behind it. Another great informative video. @lmcc0072 4 месяца назад
@@buildingthephilippines I agree that there is a need for strict gun regulations, however if these regulations aren’t strictly enforced then they become useless. For the average law abiding citizen, yes 6 months in jail and loss of gun rights is a big deal. They might also lose their job and possibly their housing. For the average career criminal 6 months in jail is a vacation and they can just get another illegal gun when they get out of jail. That is California.

Great video.. but you never covered if there are any storage in the home laws.. back home in canada when we were able to buy hand gun "no more thanks to current government" we had to store it in such a way that if you shot an intruder they would be asking how you get to the gun and load it in time.. i had shotgun under my bed which has much more relaxed laws but when i asked if i shot someone breaking in.. i was always told this isnt America shot first ask questions later... i was told you better make sure, damn sure they have a weapon on them ;)) But I've always said that... in the dead of night and sound of buckshot being cycled into the chamber would make any unarmed man shit their pants turn and run

A bit off topic. But my Filipino gf has two pieces of land in Camiguin that she inherited. Would you know the approx cost of doing a title search ? And who to use. Thanks for any help
@buildingthephilippines
@buildingthephilippines 4 месяца назад
There's no real title search here. You need to find the original title to the property. See if that person is still alive. If not then it gets complicated. It's called a mother title. Need to find a local attorney that you can trust. Usually costs about 5000 pesos. If person is alive then it's easy. However, if the title shows to be part of a larger piece of land, meaning gf only inherited part of the land. It really gets complicated. You need to subdivide the larger land, get surveyed, create a subdivision map and send to regional office to get approved. In our area it's in Cebu. It starts with the original title and an attorney.

Is the risk of attack in the Philippines high? Are there many break ins and foreigners homes with threat of violence? If the answer is yes, don't get a gun. Go to a different country. And if the answer is no, then you don't need a gun.🤔I would guess that very, very few Filipinos have guns. This sounds like Americans bringing American gun culture to the Philippines.
@buildingthephilippines

Actually the opposite is true. Many Filipinos have legal firearms. We go to the local shooting range and I'm the only foreigner shooting. Everyone else are Filipinos. Home burglaries happen all over the world. That's why my wife is a legal gun owner.

@@buildingthephilippines You need to be armed, period. What laws you obey is your business. You are in a country where the gap between the have's and have not's is huge. So, stay safe. My point is that the Government setting up legal hurdles to prevent people from getting access to firearms only makes it extremely difficult for good law abiding people. Law abiding people are not the problem, criminals are the problem and all the laws on paper mean nothing to a criminal and won't stop them. So, all these government restrictions and registration schemes you described are NOT a good thing, they are nothing but stupidity. I know the Philippines very well and there are plenty of people there, good and bad, who have illegal guns.
@buildingthephilippines

@Paladin1776a we mainly agree. I believe in legal gun ownership, where there are requirements to ensure ill people from obtaining firearms.
