Thank you sincerely for theese tutorials! The more I watch them - the more I think this console is almost useless nowdays) Tried to read official manual first - seems like behringer doesn't care about using common terminology...

It is a pretty basic console. It really depends on what you want to do. You might want to try a software consoles and a USB to DMX convertor.

The next one should be out Thursday or Friday when I go back to work. It will be on creating scenes.After that will be creating chases.

This is a great series that has been of value to me, especially since we have the LC2412 ourselves. The people who set it up are long gone, there's no documentation of what they did, and our intuition regarding how it works was wrong. One thing I wish I saw in the planning has to do with physical fixture layout. It's one thing to have stuff mounted nearby within easy reach in a lab. But what about the real world, where we have large spaces with fixtures spread throughout? Some sort of architecture/layout diagram showing which fixtures are where is important. Is there good software for this?

Very good points. My "expertise" has just been limited to what you see here on the technical side.

Hi Eugene. I have 8 "older" 7 channel lights, which I need to turn on and off individually, but looking at your instructions, I am unsure, whether I can programme my Eurolight LC2412 with, one preset, to 4 channels, and by using it, turning the light up and down. Channel 1 is the Dimmer, and 2, 3 and 4 are the colours. I don't need to use the remaining 3 channels. Can you please help?

You will need 4 dimmers per light: Master, R, G, B. You have 8 lights x 4 dimmers = 32 dimmers (need 32). The LC2412 has 12 lower dimmers and 12 upper for a total of 24. You're going to be short 8 dimmers. You can assign up to 3 channels per dimmer if you don't absolutely need to turn each light off individually. One set of 4 dimmers can control 3 lights as a group. Sounds like you need to get creative.

Thanks for great video, I've got this desk and was playing with it with some Mini Mac Profiles... We've connected everything up (after resetting the desk). Everything works, except the desk seems to be sending out fluctuating signals. While you can't see this with the colours etc. The pan/tilt is very noticeable, even with just a difference of 125>126 value for example. Your heads seemed rock steady...any ideas gratefully received. We've looked into firmware and my version is 01.06.01? Many thanks

On my robo lights, there was the option of setting the movement to fine or coarse. This is from memory from 4 or 5 years ago. You could set the lights to have 7 channels or 15 channels of control. Maybe your lights have something similar?

@@blanchae Thank you. The only work around we've found so far is to press the hold button.

Is there a way with this board to use all 24 faders at the same time. I don't need to set chances or scenes. I just want say Leko RGB 1-3, 4-6, 7-9. Then Uplights RGBWAUV on faders 10-15 and bring them all up and down with the maser fader and make adjustments to them on the flay by hand. I basically want to open all 24 faders at once...
@blanchae

You could turn all the faders on, then use the master to turn them up and down. So rather then the faders being all off, start with them all on?

@@blanchae Thank you. How do you do that with this board if I might ask? It seems to be either upper or lower... Any thoughts on how to get all 24 on at the same time? Thank you

What if you have more than 24 channels you need to assign to a fader? Do we just do it one at a time patch the dmx channels to the faders when you need it to create a scene?
@blanchae

One fader can be assigned a maximum of 3 channels. You could assign multiple DMX lights with the same base channel address. All would follow the instructions as long as they have the same model configuration. Or you can assign one light as the master and the others as slaves.

Nice video ! How does the pan and tilt functions work? Can you determine the angle of the moving head by how much up the fader is?
@blanchae
@blanchae 3 года назад
You should be able to. The lights can set the degrees for 100% fader. 180, 360, 540 degrees. You could do the math to determine the fader 0-100 to 0-360 deg pan.

Hi i was wondering if you know how many fixtures you can connect to the Behringer Eurolight LC2412?
@blanchae
@blanchae 3 года назад
That's a complicated question. In the old pre-DMX days, it was simple: 1 fixture - 1 fader. With DMX, one fixture can have multiple functions: red, green, blue, white, master, pan, tilt, etc.. Each function represents 1 channel that would be assigned to a fader. The LC2412 has 24 faders and each fader can be assigned 3 channels. Which means that you have to think about it differently. In addition, you can assign multiple identical fixtures the same base address so that they all respond as if they are one. If all the fixtures were just one color( white for example). You could have 24 faders, each controlling 3 fixtures for a total of 72 fixtures.
