This is the 9th video in this series helping you get ready for your Maths GCSE. This week is a guide to everything you wanted to now about the Maths GCSE - grade boundaries the difference between Higher and Foundation and so on.
In the 20 week series I will help you with everything you need to get in control of your revision whether you're taking the Foundation paper or the Higher. I will be uploading a new video every Tuesday looking at all the different areas that will help you succeed in your Maths exam in June. I welcome any feedback or any questions you may have - just leave them in the comments below and I'll answer them.
James

I’m someone who is in year 10 but now homeschooled and I practice higher math tests every day and I’ll tend to get about 60% right on average and I was shocked when you said that 30% was a 5. This video really helped me to understand how it works as being homeschooled it’s hard to fully understand it. Thank you

To get that grade 9 you really need to be able to answer questions where you have to apply a combination of skills. A large part of the challenge is knowing which techniques and skills are relevant to a particular question. It's obviously pretty difficult but the good news is that it comes with practise. So, obviously I'd advise you head over to www.mathskitchen.com and use our site for that. But there are plenty of other resources too - maths genie has plenty of exam questions as does corbett maths. And in a few weeks time I'll be putting up a video of just grade 9 questions so hopefully that will be useful too.

For foundation maths would it be needed to go to grade 6 or stick to grade 5
@MathsKitchen
@MathsKitchen 4 года назад
If you're taking Foundation Maths then 5 is the highest grade you can get.

Is the extended paper the same as the higher paper?
@MathsKitchen

For GCSE Maths in England, for the exam boards I mentioned there is no extended paper. Do you know what exam board you are with for Maths?
