I've been making coin rings for a little while now and have to say, Jason makes some increadible tools. Even better, I've seen others try to replicate making his tools but I haven't seen anyone come close to the quality and craftmanship using only the best materials like he does. I truly have purchased all the tools he sells just because I want the very best for my customers. Thanks Jason! - Michael Patriot Coin Rings

Talking about great support, Jason's the man! He has great products, really first class all the way. Talking about customer service there's none better. You may find "as good" out there, but none better as far as I'm concerned. Thanks Jason

Jason - with regards to the initial stretching, wouldn't it be more efficient to just stretch the coin to the size of the first plunger, instead of stretching to the max size then immediately reducing to accommodate the first plunger? Or is there a reason for those two steps? Also, can you elaborate on how, prior to that initial wrap, stretching the coin to the max size of 15 makes the following steps more efficient. Thanks.

I was one of the original makers of these types of coinrings over 10 years ago. From what I could tell, the other ring craftsmen of the time were still beating the coin on mandrels. I stopped selling them on ebay many years ago, but my method was exactly this. I made sleeves similar to these by cutting off dif sizes of morse taper sleeves for the tail stock on lathes. I didnt use teflon tape however (great idea), I simply used strips of tuct tape. Point being.... This was not invented by a Swedish man.

Loose}{Cannon They should be called Cannon Dies (or, Cannon Method)- it's kinda shaped liked a cannon, the inside degree of the dies.

Looks great Amigo... When can I get those die's and brass plungers?.. FYI... your 17 deg dies are awesome. Definitely worth every penny. Cheers. Thanks for the post.

If I plan on mostly only doing the Morgan dollar rings, is this kit all I need? Should I get the starter kit first? I have some basic shop tools as well.

Hello Jason, The Swede kit is an optional addition to the set of tools. It's main purpose is to make smaller rings possible from coins and to remove wobbles or deformities in the rings. The Auto Starter kit is a great way to get started. It is designed for making rings from quarters, halves and dollars and all sizes in-between for foreign coins. You will need a ring stretcher/reducer machine and a few other tools like a brass hammer, files, etc. Here is a link to the kit: jasons.works/product/auto-punch-coin-ring-starter-kit-no-spacer-required/

Hi, I have a watch bezel that needs to sit tighter on the watch case. Do you think that this method would be ok for reducing the bezel's diameter? Do you recommand other method for doing this? I would try putting the bezel in a vice and tightening it gently but by doing so I am just making it oval so no good.

can you recommend a ring stretcher/reducer that is reasonably priced for a startup. Is there anything out there under $200 that is quality?

Hey man I got a little problem, I just got a new swedish wrap die and I put Teflon tape on my coin ring and I started to reduce my coin ring and it is now stuck inside the die! Any suggestions on how I can remove the coin ring from the die without much damage?

Jason, I don't mean for this to sound rude but I stopped watching at 5 1/2 minutes. You assume those of us watching know what a Swedish wrap ring is or how they are made, most of us don't. I was hoping you would explain that at the very beginning but you didn't and I got frustrated. I gave you a thumbs up in spite of that.

Your equipment is way overpriced for what you offer.... not affordable for the normal hobbyist....
@digdug8
@digdug8 6 лет назад
Overpriced by who's standard? Go to a machine shop and have them cut and polish you a set of these dies and see how much that sets you back. You get what you pay for and Jason's tools are very competitively priced and top quality. The 'normal hobbyist' can make rings with a hammer and a mandrel for $20 so don't let the cost stop you.

Its about saving you time while creating a quality product, NOTHING MORE! What is your time worth? Life is short. Dont waste it on being a cheap ass.
@dianebrown1721
@dianebrown1721 5 лет назад
Todd Malibu I started out with the cheap equipment... That's where I wasted my money. Now I'm buying Jason's tools and concider every penny/ dollar to be well spent on the quality I'm getting. Maybe it depends on how seriously you take your craft. Ugh... Beats the heck out of beating it out with a hammer and mandrel. Even doing that was super fun BUT if you get started you'll want the good tools! Try it!!!!
