@Olgy. Then don’t , I often sleep in my mine , as long as you are scrupulous in cleaning your denture preferably twice a day , sleeping in them will be perfectly fine .
Thank you for this video💜 I found my dental practice lacking of info I need about partial dentures... 😒 But,thankfully, I found your video😊 I just want to ask: If it's made correctly, does it stays really stable, so it won't fall out when I am laughing? I am so scared for this to happen in front of my colleagues... 😱😥
Thank you. This video has been really helpful. About to get a partial denture for upper and lowers. Still have cavity in some tooth but did the first impression already, was kind of worried about how the final product would look like since the teeth isn't exactly perfect yet. Good to know that there is still room for improvement when filling or crowning later.
I had an accident and was told they have to extract 2 of my teeth and for the first time I heard of "partial filler". I am researching today and finding that "pop-in" dentures is what the dentist meant. For a time I was thinking of crowns but you can't crown extracted teeth. I wish she had just said partial denture.
They can do fixed bridge like I have now. But I broke the tooth the bridge is attached to. So I need partial they are more expensive. But it doesn't need to be taken in and out every day.
Since dental cost is so expensive I couldn't afford the necessary extractions and subsequent partial, so over the course of about a year I extracted 6 teeth myself and I ordered a DIY partial denture kit so that I can make my own. Ordering these do-it-yourself kits is a big no-no in the world of dentistry, but when people are left with no other options and they're tired of eating mush they do what they have to do. Will it work out? We'll see, but whatever I end up with will be more than what was afforded to me in the word of dentistry.
@@jeantuite-actress--imdb for the record I got my Kit,.made my own denture and couldn't be happier with it. You can't even tell,.They look totally natural
You extracted your own teeth? Wow, I didn't know those was possible to do without a dentist. Can you explain how you did this?Extremely interested in how you did this.
@@ih8lies339 I should've explained better. Those teeth I had to pull were already loose to begin with, and I would work with them day after day until they were loose enough to extract fairly easily. I had zero cavities on any of those teeth. I had a gum issue that loosened my top front teeth. Thankfully my other teeth weren't affected. I'm very satisfied with the partial that I made. Best $85 bucks I ever spent.
I had to do a crown; however, due to work and to some extent nervousness about getting one, I let time go. Two years later, my tooth chipped and had to extract it. Now I have 1 less tooth in my mouth + a partial denture for that tooth. Dang it, I’m getting old….
I have partials and even though they keep tightening them up when I eat they still feel like everything gets under them how can I stop that what can I use I can't stand the food going underneath it it makes it gross
Potentially some denture adhesive would do the trick. However, this isn't really the ideal solution, but it may bring the extra snug fit that you desire and stop the sensation and experience of food getting under the partial.
Dear Doctor, I have several teeth missing on my upper and lower jaw and I am 35 years old. I am financially pressed and I want to know if this £269 would cover the cost to replace all my missing teeth or just one tooth or one plate. In total I have a combined loss of about 15 teeth. Please be kind enough to answer my question regarding the cost.
@@ElectricTeeth thank you very much for answering. My husband is a doctor going to work for the nhs on a skilled worker visa and so I will have a skilled worker partner visa. As the wife of an nhs doctor on health and care visa, do you think I am eligible? We'll be relocating to the UK in November. Please be kind enough to answer this last question for me.
I am afraid I am not entirely sure what the rules are around visa's and NHS dental treatment. This is beyond my knowledge. I suspect the answer is yes. This might be a question best asked of your husbands employer.
Kriss also mentioned keeping an eye out for infections and bone loss. Is this something that is less common than being lose and possibly chocking on it?
Bone loss as a result of loosing your natural teeth is common. How severe and and what rate does depend. However, with missing teeth and aging it will happen. It is arguably more common than choking, but that depends on what data you are comparing it too.
Hi is a partial NHS denture for one back molar tooth at the top back of mouth still a full suction plate covering the entire top palette or is it smaller one? I have just had the first moulds taken and I assumed it it would be smaller in size? All videos I have looked at mainly show full dentures or partial dentures with many more than one tooth!
I’m looking for this too but can’t seem to find any. I have a decayed tooth that’s been bothering me. They want me to do root canal but I did it before on another teeth and it failed leading to me having to extract that tooth.
What they don't tell you when you have out several teeth it takes 6 months for your gums to heal first of all i had to have mine out under anaesthetic because of my bad anxiety towards dentist work😖😖😖 and then they will do impressions you will have gaps for ages really.....
Son I’m hurt ! More embarrassed I’m 23 I’m pregnant my baby took my front tooth and now I have to have these because the other option was 3,400 dollars I don’t have so hopefully I will only have this in for a short time I don’t wanna be taking them out every night 😩🙄
No they should not do so. Technically it is possible. But, this only happens if the denture does not fit correctly or you eat particular foods (sticky foods) that are more likely to cause this.
Mine doesn’t. The only thing I haven’t done is bite into an apple. I have a partial that replaced 4 of my front teeth. When I first got it the tenderness of my gums from the extraction made eating kind of painful if I bit into something. It loosened some as the swelling went down, but my dentist sprayed some acrylic stuff on it and it fit like a glove again.
I live in wales and im due to go back in a fortnight for a partial denture fitting so yeah i will come back and comment really mine is tricky because i don't have straight teeth....so he did say i may have to sit through another mold/ impressions being done if it doesn't fit right i hope not😖😖
There are various things to consider including the location and cost. Implants are typically best. But, a bridge might be a good alternative to a denture as it is fixed in place and not removable.
@@ElectricTeeth i don't have that much for permanent one.. It's okey if I get a removal one.. Is that expensive for 1 single teeth I just Wnna laugh.. And look good that's it
Hi doc! I have four molars missing in my upper jaw and I am thinking of using a metallic partial denture but I have many doubts and I can't decide. Do retaining hooks cause cavities in the parts where they are attached? Do you eat well with it? Is it definitely a good option? Greetings!
Dentures should not cause cavities in the teeth they clip around. This is because you will be removing the denture, cleaning it and the teeth in your mouth, to help prevent such from happening. There is no reason that you cannot eat well with a denture, if it is well made and has a good fit. It is definitely a good option if it is an affordable option to you. Personal circumstances are different as are budgets. Nothing better than your natural teeth ultimately. But, when these are not present, implants are the next option followed by dentures.
