Be careful on those clutch kits. Some, come with a throw out bearing were the center sleeve of the bearing is made from carbon fiber, or some plastic looking crud. Melted one playing in the mud, then replaced it with one that has a metal iner sleeve and no problems so far 😅
Can the rear main seal and cover gasket be replaced without dropping the oil pan? I thought there was some gasket material that needs to be flush trimmed.

Hi i got a 96 geo tracker lsi 4dr 16vale i need sum advice on getting it to idle when it gets up to temp also I have another transmission out of a Geo tracker I just don't know what years are compatible.
When my clutch is depressed there is no noise, but when I let off the petal in neutral I hear a slight grinding/drumming noise. Is that a sign I need to be rebuilding my transmission? Pilot bearing? Throw out bearing? Or just the normal noises of a 35 year old car?
There is one area you did not address. The front crankshaft seal. I have found this to be a very high failure iten on these engines. I have had 3 engines and the front seal on all of them fails. On one engine I had the seal fail 3 times. The 3rd engine the seal fail so badly all of the oiil leak out and you can guess what happen when that happen. These engines are getting hard to find in the junk yards and I suspect it is because of this f--king seal. It is usually a dirty sh-tty job to replace this seal if you catch it in time because of the oiil p-ssing. My question is how in f--k do you replace this seal and get it last longer than 5-10,00 miles. I now have a 98 tracker with a blown engine because of this f--king seal. I am having a hard time of finding an engine.
@Meche697 new Jimny engine will definitely fit, I bought a new Jimny in 2020 here in Australia and those engines are still tiny its a 1.5L 4cyl lol but would be still fairly expensive at wreckers as they're pretty new vehicles still, but eventually in the future when prices come down it'd be cool if somebody like Hwy83SUZUKI made an aftermarket kit to swap its K15B engine into older Suzukis to keep them on the road longer as older engines are getting harder to find, also a bell housing adapter kit to make it work with your old gearbox would be sweet too or even custom mounts for the new Jimny gearbox to work in the older Suzukis. The K15B doesn't make much power about 100hp but these engines will be plentiful around the world soon enough, plus there is aftermarket turbo/supercharger kits available already if you want more power. That Toyota GR Yaris/Corolla 3cyl turbo engine would probably fit but i think its actually physically larger than the Jimny engine as its 2L in capacity 😂 (Edit: just found out its 1.6L). But I've seen older 2L 4cyl Suzuki engines like the J20a fit into older gens before like your Samurai so it'd fit alright I think.
@@Meche697 yeah almost identical on size and power so would be a good replacement, although current prices of these newer engines are probably worth more than the old Tracker itself lol but eventually they'll come down. Sad that Suzuki isn't in North America anymore, closest is probably Mexico to you guys if you wanted to source a K15B?
