The Pasig River is a body of water that that connects Laguna de Bay to Manila Bay. Stretching for 25.2 kilometers, it bisects the Philippine capital of Manila and its surrounding urban area into northern and southern halves.
The Pasig River used to be an important transport route and source of water for Spanish Manila.
On the southern portion of the river in Manila, many important structures were built, from the original parian district to the first ice plant and cold storage in Asia to one of the grandest post offices in the Far East.
Join us as we walk through history of these places, uncovering what became of those grand structures that once stood there. We will also be taking you to the three historical bridges that connect the north and south sides of the city, going through their evolutions.
Lastly, we will be taking you to the new Esplanade, the new gem in the city, that is bringing life again to Pasig River.

Thank you, FL Liza and PBBM, for being the driving force behind the transformation of the Pasig River. The 25 km stretch has already seen incredible improvements, and the progress is only set to increase. The Executive Order 35 #PasigBigyangBuhayMuli, initiated by PBBM to revitalize the Pasig River and make it a functional tourist, recreation, and business area, is a reality and not just a theory. There's no need for debate - this is simply a fact. Thank you again, PBBM and FL Liza.

yes, thank you indeed. I'm looking forward to the day that I'll be able to walk through the 25km stretch from Manila to Pasig via Esplanade. This could be our Great Wall!

Thank you for sharing these images. I really hope Manila continues to improve and fix the places that we’re neglected for decades by the previous LGU Leaders. I really think that Manila is a beautiful city that desperately needs TLC.

the only way to accommodate 120 million filipinos in the overcrowded country (only the size of arizona USA), is through land reclamation by the sea. we should stop deforestation, stop killing the centuries old trees, its habitats, where the wild animals, the endangered 200 remaining philippine eagles live. all riversides should be owned by the government and housing extensions, businesses warehouses extensions etc. should be demolished....as these riversides all over the philippines should be converted into linear parks, jogging areas, conservations for the birds and wild animals......all housing projects by the government for the homeless people should be build through high rise buildings such as what they do in singapore and china. please reserve our riversides linear parks, the endangered forests and wild animals to next generations of filipinos, don't ever touch them for land conversations. love from 12 million overseas filipino workers.
