A passacaglia is a gentle stroll in triple time with a basso ostinato, which can vary. The Italian word actually comes from the Spanish words pasar and calle, indicating a walk down a street.
The guitar provides the basso ostinato with its harmonic progressions and the clarinet dreams along with it on their gentle walk
