the trick is to accidentally get impeach the db s route without making contact.......Derek is talking like you are setting high post screens for the gs warriors.
what about the fact you can only pick a db 1 yard past the l.o.s not 5 yards upfeild like you show.....more than 1 yard upfeild is opi. too many of these so called ''rubs'' don't get called.....however very effective.
Rub is the better term and that's what it is. When the Rub man see's the primary with a trail main he simply sits in the appropriate area. Then the primary rubs his defender off on the rub man. Rub mans goal is to more or less distract the defender enough to let the primary get free. One of my favorite short yardage/Goal line rub routes out of 2x2 personnel is a 3 step slant by 1 and a 3 step out by 2. Slant is aiming at the toes of defender over the slot. As #1 enters the slots field of vision, he plants and gets to the sidelines. When they catch on, simply let #1 bounce his slant to the back corner after he attempts his rub.
