Passed my Core 1 this morning. One thing that I can say that most of the practice exams and dumps get wrong is for the multiple choice questions. On most of the practice exams I saw, there were really obviously wrong answers along with the correct one(s) but I didn't see ANY like that on the real exam. Most of them had at least two correct answers but you have to choose the best answer to fix the problem in the easiest and least disruptive way possible. I can definitely see why they recommend working in a helpdesk position. Some of this stuff would make far more sense with hands-on experience.

Yep. Printers are among my least favorite things to work on. I can install them and connect them to a network no problem, but when it comes to maintenance and troubleshooting and repairing, I shy away from that as much as I can. I'm glad our school district has a contract with a local printing company that performs maintenance on our large copiers across our school. We just provide a network connection. Other than that, we're hands off with copiers. Printers in classrooms are a point of contention and we're very slowly moving away from purchasing those printers except for a few circumstances.

First of all, thank you for making this video. I wish I had watched it before taking my exam yesterday. Unfortunately, I scored 638 which was short of the 675 I needed to pass. I won't say where but I took a two-week course as part of a program and before you could take the exam; you had to make at least an 85% on CompTIA's CertMaster practice exam for a release of the voucher to pay for the exam. I took that practice exam five times and made 90% on my last one and decent scores twice before that. A majority of the questions on the actual exam are nothing like what's on CompTIA's own CertMaster practice exams. You better know your stuff and know exactly what the answer is. The questions are worded differently than you see elsewhere and seem to be tricky. It seemed the same way when I took the ITIL 4 exam but I was fortunate and passed that one on the first try. Along with my class material, I did review other sources, some of Professor Messer's content, and several RU-vid videos with practice exams. Most people who have been successful in passing the A+ and other exams seem to praise Jason Dion and have said his practice exams and simulations are closer to the actual exams than anyone else. I originally didn't feel like I needed to look at his material since there was so much else out there and a cost involved but I can honestly say now that the price of the material (and passing an exam) are peanuts compared to finishing after long preparation and failing. Take this young man's advice wholeheartedly because it's on point. Good luck!!!

@Derrick I am currently enrolled in an IT school. I’ve been scoring decently well in the Jason Dion practice tests, but I was doing horrible in the certmaster module practice. I ended up scoring an 84% as my best score in that actual practice test. The certmaster review modules that give you it’s own version of test questions are ridiculously hard. I’ll be taking my exam tomorrow. I’ve been so drained and stressed out dedicating so much to that module that I hope it helps me in someway. I’ve been scoring pretty well on the Jason Dion practice tests but I’m sure they are nothing like the real exam. I hope all this hard work pays off. I’ve already been feeling so burnt out and stressed of all this hard work of studying I’ve been doing. Update: Incase anyone is reading, I Passed Core 1 with a 696!

@@nickxavier828 EDX was originally a bootcamp run by harvard and got bought out by a organization called 2U aka trilogy. What they do is partner up with prestigious universities and buy their name to slap on their coding bootcamps as a form of marketing ploy . they charge people 11k for these coding bootcamps with outdated curriculum and borderline nonexsistent instruction. They don't vet prospect students properly and adopted a shady refund policy ( first 2 weeks) in order to lock people in a contracts regardless if they pass the bootcamp or not. I literally had to enroll in a second online bootcamp and spend upwards to 40 hours a week to not fall behind because my instructor was that bad. Mind you, this is suppose to be a part-time bootcamp (20 hrs+) and I hold a watch for 9 hours and other military duties. If you ever see a coding bootcamp for schools like UCSD, Harvard, Columbia, Berkeley , etc.. steer clear, I repeat , avoid these bootcamps like the plague. @DenKle-mw8iv
@DenKle-mw8iv Год назад
It almost sounds better off just going for the A+ Core1 and 2, Net+, Sec+ Certifications. Those can really get you going in a shorter amount of time. When it comes to a college degree, this can benefit depending on the specific Job role you want to go for. One of my closest friends whom has a Bachelors in computer science, and carries multiple IT certifications. I asked him this same question a while back about college vs certifications. His answer to me was, it boils down to what specific job role you want. One thing to consider if going the College Route. It takes longer to get a degree and some stuff you learn in college pertaining to certain topics are not updated as often which can be worthless when actually on the Job. The materials in college don't get updated as often in the world of IT vs CompTIA certifications. If you're interested in cybersecurity, you're better off going through the Certifications listed above in that order. A+ is the Starting point. Net+ builds on the Basics of networking you learn in A+. Same thing with Sec+ which Builds off the Basics of A+ topics related to Security. Sec+ also works in conjunction with certain topics in Net+. How long this takes really depends on YOU! -How well you absorb information and retain it (some stuff is so boring and hard to retain). -Be consistent in your studies and don't make excuses to NOT study. This will kill your progress. -Could probably get all certs listed above within 6 - 8 months if you really put effort and pass those CompTIA exams.

took me 1 week of studying per test passed both

This might be a stupid question, but do you have to take both tests in the same sitting? Since they cover different things in a way, do you suggest studying for one over the other, taking it, and then studying for the other?

You can take both tests separately, I think it was better for me to study for them individually to lighten the load a little and tackle them one at a time.

I heard Dion's 1102 practice tests aren't as good as 1101, did you find that to be the case? A lot of reviews were saying it's outdated or inaccurate.

I can’t seem to pass the 1101 part with wgu. I’ve tried 3 times and failed. Now I moved on to 1102 currently studying to take it within a week. Any tips for both 1101 and 1102

Are professor Messors practice exams good? Was about to buy Messors, but just saw Dions are only $14 right now.

I haven’t used them but I hear a lot of people like to pair dion and messers to get fully prepared.

Do you have to take 1101 and 1102 exams at once or can you take them separate??
@VetToTech

You can take them separate. I took mine about 7 months apart.
