Quick clarification: Senshi’s main “territory” or area of operations didn’t extend past the water level, the extent of his exploration was the fishing spot where he befriended Anne the Kelpie. He couldn’t get past that level without water walk magic, and his reluctance to use that magic with Laios’s party meant he tried to mount Anne to cross the water for the first time, which revealed her true colours. He likely traded with the Orcs in one of their upper camps, not the ones down below.
@@birdbird5337 Yeah, I wasn't going to mention spoilers and just keep to info he would have been told up to the current episode. C'mon, use a little common sense - this is a blind reaction.
Wow, I loved your analysis! The idea that Marcille is to magic as Laios is to monsters is spot on and very illuminating. And you're also right that this show commits *so hard* to "show don't tell," and this episode is a great example of why. Can't wait for episode 16 this Thursday!
Lactose intolerance can lead to migraines?! Okay, googled it. Scary. I think the dub's pretty good sounding (I never watch Eng dubs normally, I'm not American or primarily English-speaking), I just find some tiny choices weird. Sometimes character stuff changes due to how the script gets rebuilt. So in the JP audio Chilchuck asks Senshi if it's ok to toss the pouch of inedible treasures, but in the dub Senshi suggests tossing the pouch if Chilchuck and Marcille don't feel like holding on to it. Things like that just ever so slightly change my impression of the characters (or I guess I should say they rub up against my established perceptions of the characters).
The acting in the dub is great, but the dub script makes a lot of questionable decisions. For example the orc dialogue in episode 4(which thankfully they seem to be backtracking on judging by episode 13) or the "you're so cringe" line in episode 10 when the original was more like "you have bad timing"
@@fraidnaught9067 Nah. Every time someone disparages the dub, they only give those two examples. Even if I agreed with them, so what? Two out of hundreds of lines. There are lines in the subtitled translations that have issues too.
@@xXthevenomousXx the sub is fucked purely on the decision to call Thistle "Sissel" and having be referred to as "lunatic magician" instead of "mad mage"
