I've read about this before and while I do know my body is under constant stress, I am afraid it would make me sleepy. I have always been able to fall asleep in about a minute or two. Sometimes I have to concentrate on relaxing to get to sleep-- I sometimes have a lot on my mind.
I started a supplement that has passion flower in it about 3 weeks ago- over the weekend I got soooo tired and sleepy I just had to go to bed and sleep. After looking up passion flower I am wondering if I am one who gets the sleepy side effect! I've been taking it in the morning after breakfast so I might switch to the night time which still might give me the overall health benefit with the sleepiness at night and I might not wake up until 6am instead of 4am! I tend to go to sleep really easily but I get the early early morning cortisol wake up call. So will try this and see if that works better for me!! Just my experience atm.
It would be great to know what type of passion flower you're talking about Just in my garden alone there's three types of passion flower passiflora edulis passiflora incarnata and passiflora caerulia i know incarnata has maoi like property's

Many Passionflower users say it provides relief from anxiety. It “takes the edge” off and helps them work past their anxiety instead of becoming paralyzed by it.
I already tried it, as with all other sleeping aids, apart from those prescribed, for whatever reason sleep aids tend to have an opposite effect, it’s like it actually keeps me awake, Benadryl, nyquill, l theonin, melatonin, all these tend to keep me, I even over powered trazodone, I wonder why this is?
