I really liked this, shows that everything doesn't have to be a scam. Thai people are amazing. I met my fiance in Bangkok, she is a tour guide, doesn't party, no tattoos. Also from Issan. We are in the middle of the visa process right now and it sucks, especially when you see whats going on in 🇺🇲 I wish those two lots of luck and joy 🙏🏻

Im 60 years old and a passport bro for life. I've been in and out of Asia since the 1980s. Joining the Navy at 17 years old and marrying my first Japanese girlfriend at 19 years old. I've never had an American girlfriend. it's too late to change now, and I would never want to either. I'll be returning to Bangkok in December. I just meet girls and treat them very well but will never marry again. Beautiful Asain women are the best !!!

We all know that "This bar girl is different" and we know what the outcome is 95% of the time. Simp comes to mind but good luck to him. Couldn't take a "bucket shower". Wimp comes to mind. She doesn't sound like the type of girl that would enjoy living in the USA permanently if she loves going back to her family in Isaan. I am sure that a lot of us would like a yearly update on this relationship.

I would have been more optimistic if she was a "normal" thai girl and if they met under different circumstances and I'm wishing the bro all the best but the odds are severely stacked against him and his naivete is palpable in choosing to start a relationship with his first bargirl "experience", him having to "insist" that she stop working in Soi Cowboy and even worse marry her in the US of all places with a 56% chance of divorce and this is further compounded my her potential isolation from family/friends, culture shock, the brutal Boston winters and those inevitable "how did you two meet" questions from friends and coworkers. I would love to see an update in a couple of years.

let him enjoy his fantasy or more precisely, delusion. really wish him luck with that. i recognize him from tik tok, the bar girl apologist. i have known some also and some used to come over after work to hang out (not for money) one in particular, was a bright eyed bushy tailed sweet girl that could not believe all the attention and all the money these foreign guys were throwing at her. (i read, write, speak thai) her english was very poor at that time. never forget the time she came over and asked me which one of two guys she should marry. she showed me the judging criteria; photos of their houses and cars. said one guy told her one of his cars is special, a porsche. i saw it was a 924 (basically a volkswagon) and that that model is nothing special and even frowned upon. i think she chose the other guy. also recall the occasional long distance phone call she would get and she told me to be silent if not go to the other room before she answered. a few years pass then shockingly (sarcasm intended) she calls my name from a beer bar in bangkok. lived in america, marriage over, back to work.

Eric, thank you for your interviews, just found your channel a few days ago and I'm catching up on all your videos. This video gave me flashbacks of a lot of great memories. I can completely relate to your friend in this video, nearly the same thing happened to me 20 years ago, right down to the lady from Sisaket. Finding a lady that had good values, meeting the family, their simple life on the farm. Bringing her back to America and marrying her. 19 years later we are still together and travel back and forth to Thailand a few times each year. Just wanted to let you and your friend know that he's not the only one to do this and things have worked out great for me.

Bar girls are the easiest way, always available, not have a proper job, always ready to listen and take care. Try to get a proper working girl, educated with University, with a normal daytime job, not drinking smoking or partying, where can share costs, not always free for make holidays with men, might be harder but tourists cannot get that…

@BLACKEYETHAI my thai wife's nephew was asked for a large sinsod from the family of an ex because they knew his mother had migrated to the west. So it's not just about getting money from a farang it's about getting money where they think they can get it. She refused their demand and so they broke up. I told my wife l did not agree with sin sod and to their credit they did not care, so l paid a very small ceremonial amount that l decided on.

I have met bar girls that only accept drinks in Soi Cowboy but they were very young. He spent the night with his girl on the first night. Does he believe this was the first time she went with a customer? He know there was a negotiation to pay her for that evening. Maybe all this is all a cover for her for his friends and family who will see this video. I'm not suggesting she is not an awesome woman worthy of all of his love and devotion.

Great interview and I hope their relationship will last forever. But Eric, after watching this video, I don't think you ever can call thai bargirls good or bad anymore. Just girls who want to make money or not. I remember from other episodes you call bar girls who want to make money (bad girls) and that doesn't do them any justice if they're just trying to make a living and support their families. Thx is for the video. Appreciate a positive story with a current or previous bar girl. I was hoping your guest/friend could offer sone advice. I have a white color job working in the Finance industry with a good salary. I’m currently involved with a girl that works at a bar in Pattaya. I’m from the States also. We’re looking to do the Fiancé visa so that she can visit here for 90 days before we move forward. I understand that’s not what it’s for but that’s our intention. Once we marry, We’ll eventually be splitting out time between the States and Thailand each year as my career allows for that. I am concerned that we may be hitting some issues that I’ve seen in other visa RU-vid videos that concern getting her the visa. - Age difference 20 years - she Works as a bar girl - Short time knowing each other…few months Not sure if there’s a big age difference between your friend and his girlfriend but it appears that she did work as a bar girl. Was her working in the industry as a bar girl create an issue during the interview process in getting her a visa? Appreciate your help. Best Dave

He looks fairly young, so probably not that much of an age gap. Sorry to tell you but if she works as a bar girl in Pattaya, she is likely still doing it while your not there. Even if your sending her money not to. I've been going there for near 40 years and have seen it happen so many times. It's common practise. Been stung myself but not too badly, as I did some investigative work on her while away. Although I was told I was her only one, there was a number of us being told the same thing. It was all smoke and mirrors. If I was to go with a bar girl now it would not become serious. Good luck.
