2:53 adorable❤ I must say, studying with you is so effortless and fun. I started with 0 Japanese. I am actually speaking full sentences now (this is a cat, this is a book). Having flashbacks when I just started studying English 😊 . I am not worried about the grammar you don’t mention “yet”. This is the way you built the course and it works! I bet there are many people like me who trust your process. Thank you so much for being such kind and wonderful human.

I've watched every video atleast once if not twice of 5 times 😂😂😂😂 I've absorbed all the concepts but for me I'm not sure if it's just how I learned but it's like I have to turn off part of my brain and on another to learn the vocabulary and that switch is EXHAUSTING I think in order to help it would be AWESOME if you could make a vocabulary video for each chapter with a complex quiz with it... just going over and pounding the vocuablary into it. I'm sure the book is easier because you most likely have a vocabulary list to study... I've screen shot every word so I'm going to have to make flashcards or something before I can continue on to another video which is sad because I just want to continue on but for the life of me I'm falling so far behind on vocab 😠😠😠 I for sure for sure think occasional vocabulary lessons and quizzes or videos that focus only on vocab reviews would be amazing!!!!!

would deshita in the context of the birthday really be that aggressive? In english it feels perfectly reasonable to say that my birthday was (past tense) on the 15th if it is the 20th. ur more or less just saving yourself saying the month. I really dont think the words imply anger in english however a foreign language might have different rules regarding that

@samsik86
@samsik86 8 лет назад
Like I said, "Im learning from different sources." I'm not only learning from his videos. Next time try not to be a Dick about it. I was curious is all, This was for my information, not the other viewers.
@samsik86
@samsik86 8 лет назад
Well as far as I remember from watching this new series. I don't recall him saying anything about bringing up stuff not related to the series. I do remember him stating he didn't like the fact that ppl were asking a question about something that he just covered or asking a question that was in the same video they commented on. Second, yes i do know the meaning for both, reason why I asked was because the situation he gave the example for. I didn't quite get why he would say "what was it?" when I thought it would be "what happened?" If someone would yell and say dammit its gone. you wouldn't say "what was it?" Normally in english you say "whats gone? what happened? or whats wrong? Given that Japanese is all about context and situations I wanted to know what was different for that example. I'm not good in Japanese, I will make mistakes, Which is why I asked George the question. If I wanted to ask other viewers for their opinions I would say "Hey does any know why blah blah blah for that part in the video?" But I didn't, I asked the person teaching it.
@japanesefromzero
@japanesefromzero 8 лет назад
Well even in English they are both different phrases. If your friend asks なんでしたか then the know you were freaked out because of some type of Pokemon appearing. But if they don't know why you freaked out they would say どうしたの? what happened???
@samsik86
@samsik86 8 лет назад
Exactly...And that is what I wanted to know. I know you don't want us to jump to far ahead, and not mess up the way your teaching. But sometimes I do get lost, and I need to find another way around it. Eventually, I do come back to it, and understand it the second time around. Thank you George for getting back to theism really appreciate the time.
@samsik86
@samsik86 8 лет назад
Ok JapaneseMetal....I get what your saying...and like he says, sometimes when you get lost, you need to move forward..but not too far ahead. Im not giving any answers, I'm not trolling either. I do get lost sometimes and get super frustrated, I move on to something a little more ahead of what I'm learning. It benefits me more that way, even more so when I come back to something I couldn't grasp. Im not arguing with you, Im letting you know my learning style. Everyone learns differently, some ppl will pick up these teaching methods better than others. I just wanted to know why he used the example that way. and he explained that if the person knew of what happened vs if the person didn't know what happened.

The drop off is nuts. More than 90% have stopped watching by now (compared to the first video in the series)

WTF invented this language? Ta and Ka sound very similar so is it a question or a past tense?

As a german, i am so happy that in japanese you discard useless stuff in the sentence. Or rather that japanese are capable of using context. I remember in my classes in school when we wrote tests and questions were like "John asked Rufus what he was doing. What does Rufus reply?" and i would write "He would say that he is working on his car" and i'd actually get that marked as error because "it wasn't obvious who "He" is refering too", and if i mean Rufus or John with he. And i was always like "What the fu**? That's just so obvious...". I'm so happy that japanese doesn't do bulls*** like that.
