Sonia Reid regardless what ppl think. Forgiveness as the church makes it out to be is you have to forgive right away. Sorry if someone tried to hurt a friend of mine in a church(especially) whether its be verbally or sexual abuse...thats hard to forgive right on the spot. Cuz to be honest id be in jail. And to that I say forgiveness takes time. You can't say I forgive u but u have anger in your heart. So is it like if u cut me and u see that I'm bleeding and the wound but i say I'm not cut I'm not hurt and do nothing about it. You have to heal from it and decide to forgive. A cut needs to get cleaned, applied with ointment and a bandaid over it. Once the wound is healed then u can remove the bandaid. But at the end of the day u make a choice to forgive that person and not let anger or offense rule over u. It will make u sick. Trust me I know.
If I were you I would take that pain and use it to help others... whenever I hurt I say to myself I would not wish it on no one, so with that I go back rewrite it... teach others about what you been through, there is a point of view someone needs to see or hear so they won't make the same mistake or create that pain for someone else. Teach them how to prevent such pain or even move forward... it will help you to move on cause it's not something you should carry alone or keep to yourself, there is a lesson in there to help others, therefore helping you to see and feel better about it.
