Pastor Reacts! Not sure if you are still seeing comments on this old vid, but this seems to be a great response to the Dax video you just did. Dax - Book or Revolution
he isn’t saying cremate, he is saying that putting on a big fancy funeral and a fancy casket isnt what will matter when the end comes. What matters is your soul and how you lived your life
Lyrics are literally "When I die, put my ashes in the trash bag; I don't care where they go" and then he says don't waste money on a grave stone... he doesn't explicitly talk about a funeral in the song, it's implied but not mentioned. I guess in a way you could say the concept of 'from ashes, to ashes; from dust, to dust' (which is based on Genesis 3:19 (King James Version): In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.") because other than bones, we all return to dust... but in the short term most people think of ashes as the result of cremation
True, bury or cremate, Hes going to find your dust particles, why else it says in Revelation, and the sea will offer up the dead to be judged. He also says, from mortality to immortality, corruption to incorruptible, hes talking about our new bodies which died as sin touched bodies but raised in glory and power.
@LOUIDJYMARVENS SAINTLOUIS Oh my gosh, you are so right!! So many people dont like listening to real music, it makes them uncomfortable bc in reality, it's the truth! NF even says something about that in a few of his songs.
im a recovering heroin addict, currently 4 1/2 months sober. but i struggled for almost 10 years going in and out of rehabs, very brief stints of sobriety. this song sums up nearly my entire addiction. i would lay in bed and cry out for god to either give me strength to quit or to take my life because i couldnt live like that anymore. i really believed He turned his back on me. it was either that or He didnt exist in my mind cuz if He did exist, why would He let me suffer so much. i survived so much while others around me were dropping like flies from much less, and i had a lot of survivors guilt about that. i finally hit my bottom when someone tried to kidnap me at gunpoint and to get away i ran into the street and got hit by a car. nothing super major (later found out i had a crushed vertabrae) a broken nose, broken rib, and lots of road rash. i didnt go to the hospital cuz i still had drugs left, and then the very next morning i went right back up to that same spot to score again. thats when i realized, God had been with me the whole time. i never would have survived if He hadnt protected me until i was ready to come back into his flock. "dont ever tell me theres no god" im a walking miracle. thank you, God, for saving me. He does see all of us. we just need to seek him.
I had two family members that died from cancer. God was there. The suffered for a while but the knew they were dying and prepared for it. One became a believer and one remained a believer. So they are both in heaven today. Do I miss them, yes. Would I want them back here, no!
I have been listening to nf since his mansion release, and it challenges my internal conflict daily. I struggle with self hatred and the song hate myself off the new album is impactful to a degree where this turmoil is being amplified. I know we are called to love God and love our neighbor, and I know we are called to crucify our flesh, but walking it out for three decades has led me to a place where I can pour out love to everyone around me, but can't see any good inside. I love your reactions and mature perspectives and would really appreciate a reaction to this song if you get a chance. Thank you.
Listening to the song multiple times, I don’t think he’s asking himself where God is but is telling us that we should change and not just wonder where He is. He’s urging us to look into it ourselves and be the change we want to see in the world.
You skipped my favorite line towards the end!!! It’s a conversation between him and god: NF: I look around at this would we walk on, it’s a smack in the face don’t ever tell me there’s no god. And if he isn’t then what are we here for? God: and what are y’all doin’ down there? NF: I don’t know lord! Anyways I don’t expect you to see this but you know I’m sure someone will :)
Suggestion: next time you react or dissect a song and it’s meaning I think it would be beneficial to listen to the song in its entirety and it’s context, just like I’m assuming you do with your Bible. We cannot simply pick out a single verse and go and try to figure out its meaning... there are entire stories surrounding each verse and for good reason (so we keep Gods teachings in the correct context). After listening to entire song I would go about and then try to decipher what the song writer meant. The song Summed up is Wisdoms Rebuke in Proverbs 1:20-33. A generation wants to live by its own accord and wickedness and not seek the Lord. When things go wrong they want to cry out to the Lord “Do you see us down here” and want to know why He would allow such awful things to happen.Do you care God? They question all this even when they refused to obey and follow him in the first place. When you have a true relationship with the Lord you know that we are to live by faith and lean not on own understanding and to accept certain things and know that all things will work out for His Glory! I find this song to be very easy to interpret and as the Bible says “Whoever has ears, let them hear. To what can I compare this generation? They are like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling out to others: “we played the pipe for you and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn.” Some of the paused discussions you were having were out of context or irrelevant to what the singer was trying to get across.. and I find that to be because you were picking apart sentences rather than the parable if you will... The Lord works in awesome ways. praying that your interpretation touched people’s hearts.
Realistically the Bible was originally written in Greek and Hebrew. He is qouting things from a falsely translated version which is wrong and it actually states do not do that in the Bible.
I agree! It's like taking a verse put of the Bible and making it into something its not. Or interrupting somebody in the middle of a sentence and interjecting something when you do not know what the conversations about.
A beautiful book I read gave a statement I carry with me each time I feel like I am lost. The man told his wife that "God is always speaking but sometimes people aren't listening."
I don't want to put all my business out there but in the course of this video things were said that resonated and touched me. After a few years of feeling like my faith life had been me fooling myself and if God was real he was unreachable to me, I cried and prayed and somehow broke through and feel closer to Him than I have for a very long time. I don't quite know why now or by this, but I feel changed and held by Him and I thank you for the part you played in that. 💖
He's definitely not unreachable. He came and died to save everyone who will turn to Him. Read His word. He cared enough to write and preserve everything we need to know about Him. He used dozens of people over thousands of years to get us His message. Our feelings, other people, emotions, etc can all be misleading. Everything you feel or hear, test it by His word that he gave to us specifically for that. To test our own feelings, or the teachings of others, and verify it by His word. “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?” Jeremiah 17:9 ESV I say this bc I've been a Christian forever, but about a year ago I felt a strong pull to reprioritize and do what I knew I should have been doing my whole life: giving Him the time I should have been giving Him. I started reading the Bible everyday (though I do miss sometimes) and I'm a different person now than I was a year ago. Pray and read His Word. God bless.
I see God in everything. I see God in the tree I'm currently sitting by, I see God in the bird chirping by me, I see God in ME! I see God in ALL things....we wouldn't be here if not for God. It took me to actually die to see that. When I died ( and obviously was brought back) I didn't see flashes of MY life but of LIFE... insects, rushing water, volcanoes, trees, and people laughing with pure joy. That was my death experience. I know see God in ALL things...cause HE made them!!
As a Catholic we are strong about cremation because it is in Genesis 3:19 it says: "In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust you shall return.” which as a Catholic our ashes are us becoming dust once again.
I thought the same , I watched I'll mind of Hopsin 7 reaction and no others by them but it showed the red line so I wanted to finish it , so I clicked on it .
The simple fact that you have an opportunity to have a conversation with you dad/father. I’m jealous. You dad is genius. I would love to have just one minute of his time. Thank you.
Jesus never turned anyone away that asked Him for healing. Thank you Jesus! I was awakened in October 2015. I’m at the stage of my faith where I wake up with a broken heart every morning. Now I know His goodness. I mourn for us all. Save us from ourselves! I would’ve killed myself this morning if I didn’t believe in Jesus.
That's kind of a pat answer that we can't see God until he comes to live in us. I saw Jesus in a small church called Victory Outreach formerly on Denver East Side now on 104th and Sheridan in Aurora. I wasn't saved, and hadn't accepted him. I wasn't looking for him. I only went there because they said they'd feed me, and I hadn't eaten in three days. You can say I'm crazy, a liar, or whatever you want, but I'm on fire for Jesus. I hated Jesus before I saw him. He spoke to me, and told me he loved me. Nobody saw him but me, but people who knew me before I met him lose their minds when they hear me preach Jesus. They knew I hated him. Now he's my only Way, Truth, and Life. You want to know about Jesus? Ask me. I can tell you what I saw, and heard not the lukewarm pat answers I learned in seminary.
I, had never heard of 'NF' until I heard this song & needed to know whom the vocalist would be! Nada, any 'need' to 'critique', 'critisize', 'judge' &/or anything else, in My Humble Opinion...= God 'Utilizes' Each & Every ONE, of Us, as 'Tools' in HIS Way & in HIS Time..... As, Simple & as Beautiful as, that.... We Each are Here, to BE, Helpful to One-Another... Be Humble, Be Nurturing, Unto Yourself; Others, KEEP, YOUR HEART "WIDE OPEN", & the Journeys 'challanges'/'lessons' shall be less of a 'burden'.... KEEP LOOKING, UP....😁🙄
Man I was hoping so bad for you to bring up the free will when asked why all the murder and hate. Thank you Pastor you answered so well on this one. God bless you and your wisdom shared boldly and lovingly. Your son is lucky to have you! I've watched a lot of your reactions but you nailed it on this one sir. Much love and respect.
People forget life is a struggle and death is not the end it is the beginning. When god does not intervene it does not mean he has forgotten you. He is testing you so remember to stay strong.
I'm 31 with no parents. They raised me so Christian and everything has a purpose, I don't know what to believe anymore. I'm 31 and have experienced more pain them most 50 year olds.
That's because God created you for a very big purpose and the enemy brings us so much sorrow that we don't focus on the things we should be doing to help others. Seek God diligently and you will not fail. Read the Word of God esp the New King James Version for me is the best. Also follow Joshua Selman and Revelations of Jesus Christ by bro. Werks on You tube and watch their preachings. I hope you get blesses with their messages.
Nf is incredibly good timing for the world we are in now as most of us are openly broken abused rape molested ext we are all so lost an need to be touched by Jesus he takes us as we are no matter the season we are in it’s not the final destination just my broken two cents
NF have really made me feel happy and not give up. I also am very sad to what happend to him when he was young, i fell really sad for him. He is my idol. I LOVE him!
The repetition I think is to invoke a meditative mindset which is connected to prayer. There are many forms of prayer; praying to seek answers is in turn a desire for intellectualization beyond ourselves. Working in a music studio to craft this track was a form of prayer; working in a lab to find a cure or treatment is prayer; reading is prayer; establishing connection with others is prayerful. But meditative prayer is beneficial so we can look within ourselves and find where exactly we are in need...so we can strategize and figure out and discover more laws in nature and God's ultimate creation. Giving thanks in prayer is dichotomous in a few ways- expression of thanks and joy, but also remembering so we can remain relatable to others in that we ourselves are/were once in a position of need and perplexity...or have seen it in someone else.
About the question you had at 7:30 about when people are hurt like raped killed etc. I think its important to understand that we free will and all that but we also have to understand there's a spiritual war going on and every action we make does something in the spiritual world especially what we speak upon ourselves and others whether that blessings or curses. That being said you also have to remember who's behind the evil in this world and God makes it pretty clear that there's fallen Angels that absolutely hate humans and have come to kill steal and destroy so I think its important to understand that God isn't out here doing evil things to people because of what they do in their life. Also I think you misunderstood the song he's writing it from the perspective of a person that doesn't believe in God.
I have watched many reactions to this song...and nobody ever catches the line "Watching the news in our living rooms on the big screens talking about if God's really real then where is he" If you are blessed enough to have a living room and a big screen TV then you HAVE BEEN BLESSED!!! Not everyone has that and if your wo during where God is then.look around at what all you do have!!!
Wow finally a reaction channel where you guys are actually discussing things! So happy to find this. Most reaction videos now'days, are just someone watching the video and going "WOW OMG THATS CRAZY" or some half-hearted bs. Much love and respect thank you for provoking thought in the minds of others.
Anyway I really did enjoy this I like how your son asked you some really tough questions and nothing that was awesome and you answered them really good none of it felt staged it feel real so thank you guys enjoyed
The pastor is right we as believers have to look and live our lives in the eternal cause our life is only a speck in time when you know their is a eternal!
I prefer to think of it the other way.If god aint real that the world would be more cruel.God got powers to change people, but until they give god acces to their soul, nothing gon change..
I believe NF is not dissing God. I believe this song is giving fans insight into his life. NF has questions and doubts, just as all of us sinners do. I know I do. But I think that NF deserves more recognition, specifically for this song. The song reminds me that even though we don’t see what God is doing, He is still there. Keep up the good work NF!
Why can't we see God - He is holy, we are not ^first thing that came to my mind Psalm 19; Romans 3:9-26 is what i think on as i listen to You guys speak Really solid video, You guys make a great team! (Love Your questions and back&forths) Thank You for this!
First time viewer. I really hope this is all genuine(which I do believe it is)because it really is great content. NF brought me here. But I'll stick around. Thanks guys!
i think god gave us a free will bcause god wanted a people love him real, if god create us like "you going to be listen to me, u're not going to make a sin.. just love me that's it!" it sounds like we're god slaves or maybe a robot that programmed and it's fake. free will mean if later we can love him, it going to be a pure love and you know what... it's HARD ahahahaha @@
Watch this just to see pastor reaction to nf oh lord. Been searching the answer I've been struggling for past 8 years since I leave God. God is waiting for my invitation to my heart..
God will always call people to Him even though they don't pray! the whole nature speaks of Him...turn yourself in to God, anyways there is no place that you could go and escape from Him!
The son of the Pastor seemed to want a FAITH based Answer...”why”...I’m certain he already knows them.. We we ALL have Free Will and we will meet the Father as soon as we breath our last breath and we’ll definitely know He’s Just. Thanks for posting this Artist Music and sharing your analysis.
its honestly true to the dot cause realistically us humans prove time and time again that not only do we not care till it affects us but that its very hard to help someone who wont ask for or accept help
I think what confuses people and leads them to believe it's a "transaction theory" is that they're not taking into consideration two things. 1, No is an answer too, God's it a genie to grant all the wishes we want and 2, spiritual warfare and testing your faith. Like he said the book of Job delves into that but when the angel of the Lord appeared to Job he said "I was delayed", but Job didn't give up because he was testing his faith and was relentless. Just as much as we want answers there's 1000% chance there is a demon that is going to want to intercept it, but they are not as mighty and will always lose, I believe it's up to us to have the patience to wait. Long story short, I can see how it can get confusing but once examined, it helps to put things into perspective.
I like that you guys reacted to this song, but I think some of the stances taken were purely from a perspective of opinion. When we turn from God, He will hide His face from us. And He will not just come to the rescue (unless he wants to) if you just call on his name one day when you're in a bind. The word instead says that IF you seek the Lord with all your heart and repent, THEN He will show His face to you again and hear you. If you don't do these things, God will let you destroy yourself and reap your harvest. And God has no reliance on man, and He isn't looking for a partner. We are His servants and here to do His will. People take offense to this because it sounds harsh... However, most people are looking for someone GOOD to serve. They want a good president to serve. They want a good ceo to serve, they want a good boss to work under.. it's natural to desire to serve something righteous. Well, no one is more righteous than God. Serve Him.
You on the part when you say it's classic is again 100% true people want a genie on the bottle when they got problems now God is real where was he before that you know where was God when I needed him he was exactly where we put him it's about relationship
The song is not repetitive in so much as it's the chorus of the song "Oh Lord, oh Lord, do You see us down here? Oh Lord, oh Lord." 98% or so of popular songs adhere to the basic construct: Intro, Verse -- Chorus -- Verse -- Chorus -- Bridge -- Chorus -- Outro. So the "Oh Lord" is supposed to be in the song that much
Agree 100%. You cannot see spiritual things without spiritual life if you're not saved in the Gospel of John he speaks to make a demons I believe in chapter 3 about this
And according to the stuff I’ve read if a living mortal lays their eyes upon a creature of divine being will literally drive them insane because we can’t endure it and that’s why there’s a veil separating us
