Yep, that insane red headed drummer blew me away when I was taking up drums many years ago as an early teen. Needless to say, he was truly a great influence on my playing. Sadly, he is, believe it or not, a very underrated drummer among the drumming community. Don't know why, but I know true talent when I hear it. He reminds me of the awesome Keith Moon, both great showmen as well as stunning drummers.
Yes that is how it's done...along with some of the best musicians in the world! I have sat up front for her many times. they sound just like the records. Myron Grumbacher...spelling? the drummer...one of the best in the world.
It's amazing how this women can literally sing her rear end off and put an awesome show that is out of this world without autotune, etc that the fake talentless pop singers have to use today. Long live Pat Benatar and her band!
Great performance! She has got a really good rock voice. It's a pitty that she turned into pop. This song is definetly Hardrock! If she had chosen that path,i would be fan,and may be she had become a great Hardrock singer just like Lee Aaron!
Stop the video on 3:46 THAT´S FUCKING PURE ROCK AND ROLL !!! Powerful picture of what rock is all about. Best Pat line up ever. Fucking great live performance !
The Florida Fish & Wildlife Invasive Species Div. busted Pat strip her naked put her in a large container to test her for other speices she might be threatening! I peek through the porthole. The technicians showed her TV images of flies Pat's tongue flip out 5 feet to catch them she was real good at it they showed her a 13 inch image of a lizard Pat's irises turned vertical her lips pulled back showing her teeth Pat HISSES at the lizard real aggressive like a cat or a cobra frighten me too!
@SugarXMind99 Spoken like a typical old fart.........and I couldn't agree more :) I gave ya a thumbs up buddy! You said it! ;) I miss this kind of power.
Not disputing you may have seen Pat on tour in 1983, but this video was recorded at the New Haven Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Conneticut. I had the concert on VHS, but the tape snapped several years ago. Her live version of "In the Heat of the Night" and Smokies' "If You Think You Know How To Love Me" were to die for. Gutted I never saw her live as she only ever did a couple of gigs in the UK and they were pre 81 before she hit the big time.
In an older post, someone mentioned that kids haven't "heard the classics". I've taken my now 18 yr old son to see Van Halen w DLRoth. I've played Aerosmith to Lynrd Skynrd to Queen to early Green Day on the radio & CD's for him. Good music will always stand the test of time. Speaking of which, we've also taken him to see the Glen Miller & Jimmy Dorsey orchestra touring bands, which I highly recommend. wish i would have taken him to see Johnny Cash before he (Johnny) past.
@SugarXMind99 Hee! I admit - I love all the flashy nonsense of a pop show, but I am also a straight-up no strings fan (it's pretty much all goos) - Pat is one of my faves ( had the pleasure of seeing her at the now-dead Montreal Forum).....oh, that voice.........I was by myself, in the bleeders, and the people next to me were not too enthusiastic. But she was great, of course! I think Shadows of The Night does me in....(told you I had a pop side :)) vc
Hmmm? I know I'm getting old, but I seem to remember something which I though was a "Heartbreaker" video on that new-fangled MTV years ago; most notably, the sick Myron Grombacher behind a huge drum kit just wearing and tearing it up for all he was worth (it was kind of comical because he seemed to be a short guy - like me - and the kit so large). Was I dreaming, or was it another song? Hmmm? Either way, he made me want to bring that same energy to both my playing and my fellow musicians.
My bad, I may have been "Hit Me with Your Best Shot". Was there a video for that with Myron behind a huge drum kit playing like a little dervish devil? Can't find it yet. Any directions welcomed please, that video is still etched in my mind because it made me want to do the same things he was doing to that kit.
i had her,,ann and nancy wilson,,joan jett,,and chrissy hien in the same hotel room with a pound of coke,,a gallon of whiskey and a bucket of k.y.,,back in 1980 sumtin
