Keep the number of teams to keep playoff races alive, but give the higher seeds a big advantage, like starting up 1-0 in series, to reduce the randomness of the playoffs and make the regular season actually matter in a tangible way
Love to see the Tatis appreciation. This dude is absolutely still the unreal player he was back in 2021, but more muted DESPITE the multiple surgeries and suspension. We love him here in San Diego. Icon.
I would like to think that between XM radio, You Tube, ESPN, Yahoo, Rotowire, CBS, Fantasy Pro's etc... That I am up to date on what is going on with players, prospects, injuries etc... This is the first that I have heard about that umpire. Hats off to you for bringing it to my attention. MLB definitely buried it.
What??? The 2005 White Sox won 99 games (most in the AL; 1 game less than St Louis in the NL). They absolutely dominated in the playoffs losing ONE game. Back then, there weren't multiple wild card teams; the Sox had winning seasons from 2000-2006. Oh I know- the BP types didn't like the GM and loved Cleveland (who the Sox wiped the floor with). They were in no way some fluke. They were dominant. Good gracious.
Why are we acting like the 2006 World Series winning St. Louis Cardinals didn't happen already? They were 83-78. That's pretty freaking close to the 82-80 scenario y'all theorized teams fans would be up in arms about.
Starting the slippery slope of betting where 20 years in the future most professional sports leagues will have massive issues with getting fans to believe what happens on the field is real and not a result of players, coaches, umpires, all manipulating things
