And this is why I love McAfee...His willingness to question these "insiders" on their moral/ethical viewpoints with regards to reporting. Pat is the only guy with a bean bag big enough to do it! For what it's worth, this video is also why Rapoport is the only "insider" I can even stomach listening to...He at least isn't a pus about answering questions about his moral decisions and explaining his justification. Better than that dink snatch Schefter.

Looking back at an Ole Miss alum Chad “Swag” Kelly. Who was a very good player. But has some severe demons. And they’re sitting on his coattails. That’s what NFL teams see as a possibility in Matt. As a coach or GM, I would still want Swag on my team. The same for Corral and Purdy.

I remember the time he had an “inside scoop” but when the team denied whatever it was, Ian was pressed by Rich Eisen where he got the information from, Ian then claimed he just figured it out himself and decided it was the “inside scoop”. Rich was befuddled like everyone else and probably thinking Ian is full of crap. What’s crazy is that it was completely forgotten

It's a tricky situation because, whilst the analysts could just refer to the playing abilities and skills, that wouldn't necessarily be enough information when evaluating someone's draft stock. Obviously the teams have to take such things into consideration when deciding if they're going to not only spend a draft pick on a player but also potentially pay them millions and therefore this kind of information does really need to be included in a players evaluation.
@hiddenpotentialproject806
@hiddenpotentialproject806 2 года назад
But it was after he was drafted?
@clive55
@clive55 2 года назад
@@hiddenpotentialproject806 And so what? If it were referred to during the draft process, why not reference it again if you're being asked about his potential to succeed? Talent alone will only go so far and so character plays a key role when discussing any players chances of success, no matter at what stage this occurs.

This sounds like total BS. 32 teams felt Matt Corral was a 3rd\4th round. Ian Rapoport incorrectly reported Corral being a possible 1st/2nd round pick before the draft. When Ian Rapoport (and others) had to explain why they miscalculated where they thought he was going to be drafted, they threw him under the bus.

First of all to Matt, dudes been a stud QB since HS. I feel like his group at the Elite 11 really went mainstream. I think as a whole if we want to develop these kids into being proper men, instead of exploiting their talents for clicks and content. Proud he could overcome everything. No matter what he's a winner. Also Ian's job is he reports things. I think it's delivered in a very mutual tone. The way we have the public frames the information. He coulda been a top 10 pick, and people would've been giving him a "Joe Burrow" coming of age.

I'm pretty tuned into the draft, not crazy like some people I know and I knew all of this stuff about Corral weeks before the draft. I didn't see how Rapoport reported it at the time, but all of this stuff was out in public...especially the fight with Gretzky's kid, people have been joking about that one for years. I wish Pat would be so bold with questions when he has Aaron Rodgers on instead of just letting him say whatever he wants.

He was very right now thinking back at it. Corral was a high caliber QB prospect who had all it took to become a great QB and was even compared to other QBs in the NFL. That being said his off the field antics really messed his whole career.
