So I did a little research. I like to follow recruiting. I think it’s interesting. Anyway, I couldn’t even find a profile for this kid on ANY major recruiting websites. I’m guessing the school is a smaller school classification in Texas. Because despite being district defensive player of the year, he doesn’t seem to be a prospect at all. Even kids who end up at D2 or D3 will have profiles on these sites. Also found out there was a similar incident with this kid during a soccer game last year. So I don’t think anyone was seriously recruiting this kid before this and they definitely aren’t recruiting him now.
@No La because of his age and how the whole school athletics was punished and the team was forced to give up a playoff spot he will most likely have a lot dropped and get a misdemeanor
Im sorry Pat. If he is a senior in high school. He should know better. He should face the consequences and take whats coming to him. You don't touch the referees. For Christ sakes I learned that in pee wee football.
As a former football player and bouncer he's not bouncer material. Bouncers that crack skulls get clubs shut down. Bouncers have to be able to handle 99 percent of the problems without using your hands.
See, now that’s ridiculous. The only way that makes any sense is if the coach told him to do it or something. Why punish the team for the actions of a rogue player. He acted alone.
@@happytrees4734 Because the whole concept of TEAM SPORTS is THE TEAM lol, anytime you are part of a team the actions of one person affect everyone whether it's baseball, football, or the damn military that's the first thing they teach you. I have a feeling for the rest of his life he's going to blame everyone else and not himself for his problems if his life ends up not going how he thought it was going to go.
probably not a felony assault charge assuming he's never assaulted/battered anyone prior to this. It will probably be charged at most as a misdemeanor or disorderly conduct.
They have mentioned that he had a "previous incident during soccer season" but never revealed what it was. I'm betting it was attacking a soccer ref but don't rwally know. Really (big fingers, small keyboard)
@@olds260 your on the field expect it? So when the play is blown dead your just gonna go level a guy you wanna take a cheap shot at? No. See how stupid that sounds?

@@logan_nowicki absolutely but what was the couching staff doing the years he's been playing? Coaches need to be aware of these things simultaneously as they coach about football.
Well neither is Pat if you’re going to give people an excuse because they’re a teenager there’s adults that are that stupid do we give them a pass as well this dude has built like a truck he should have legal ramifications honestly I’ve seen 15-year-olds in my neighborhood do some really heinous things but these days they’re allowed off the hook because they’re “a kid and they’re not a kid if you do something like this you’re not a kid anymore because a kid doesn’t do this
It wasn't his first time doing this. Reportedly, he did it in a soccer match a year ago. Not a momentary loss of control; it's a way of life for this kid.
i don’t know the whole story behind this but if this is the only reason his team got disqualified i feel like that’s a bad decision because it ruins the season for the rest of his team when they had literally no control over that. yes, he’s part of the team, but most of the seniors are likely never going to get to play football in an organized league again so this was their last chance to play and they lost it because their teammate is an idiot and they had no control over that
@@moistfire8923 the team’s school district decided to pull them out of the playoffs. Feel bad for those guys. The kid is gonna have to deal with that as well as the charges
For sure man. I’ve seen other teammates fight and it’s been fine but you can’t just hurt someone because you don’t like the call even if the refs made a mistake. You’re just a whiny punk who gets mad if you don’t get what you want.
Presuming as a senior he is either on the verge of or 18, he is an adult. There is no defense that he's a teenager or a kid. That was full fledged assault and deserves to be treated as such
I've met plenty of 25-30-ish year olds who still act like dumb-dumbs and want to fight everybody for looking at them, or saying their team sucks, or accidentally bumping into them in a crowd. That's not "underdeveloped", that's "this gene-pool should not have been allowed to breed". Although, if the aliens do show up and start a war, those dumb-dumbs will be the first ones on the frontlines 😂

I’m from the rgv tx like that kid but from a different school and district and when I was in school freshmen year to be exact I would be surprised seeing underaged teens having tattoo It came to a point where I seen so many kids with tats it didn’t surprise me anymore
He will ABSOLUTELY be charged, and probably with a felony. All referee organizations, from peewee to pros, have lawyers just WAITING for some moron to do this junk.
This kid is getting his ass beat......he threw the entire season down the drain for the entirer school.......I'm actually impressed with how the league handled the situation.
It sucks because this is the first time they've been in the playoffs in a long ass time and he fucked it all up. All that whining and chanting to the district about letting them play during covid was a waste of time now

There is no defending this. Parents should have taught them their whole life to control anger. I feel bad about || this much. As a parent to my own teenage sons that are that age. I condone this in no way shape or form.
Plenty of people who play sports don't act like this. They will never get the opportunity this person has. Give his place to someone who deserves it and will cherish it. Better for everyone involved that way.
I'm all for second chances, but he needs to pay some dues first. Kiddo should do 3-6months in jail, and probation afterward for 2 years. As well as pay restitution to this ref. Maybe he can redeem himself walking onto a community college team one day, maybe not. Only he can choose to be a thug or a good man from here on out. @Enzo Cool correct, that is the reason his team was kicked out of playoffs, which for a team game of high school students I feel is slightly unfair,I know it's a team game, but how are a bunch of kids supposed to know this guy planned on doing that? but it was a punishment on the school, the kid should not have been playing at all
All-District isn’t really that high of an honor. Yes, Texas is known for HS football but it’s really top heavy. There’s a lot of crappy districts especially in the Valley.
@@gro_skunk Dude he is a high-school football player. I doubt his family has enough money to just drop 10,000 dollars down. Most Americans can even afford a 500 dollar emergency let alone 10,000.

As long as the person going to court shows up for court, after the case is closed, the bail bond is dissolved and the collateral is returned to the person, and the bail bondsman keeps the 10% put forward as profit. He was charged with Class A felony assault, with a $10,000 security bond. His team won the game, but were booted from the postseason. The referee had a shoulder injury and concussion-like symptoms. He was also released from the soccer team following a similar incident earlier in the year.

At least someone understands. Graduating from this school and knowing this guy, doesn't seem like he would have a lot of scholarships. Especially from edinburg. Why isn't anyone bringing up this kids past? He has a history of this type of behavior and also a police record. No one stepped in to try and stop it before which is why it progressed to this level.
