What do you think the truth of the flu game is? This is a clip from McAfee & Hawk Sports Talk live from 1pm-2pm EST Mon-Fri. SUBSCRIBE: / @thepatmcafeeshow MERCH: store.patmcafeeshow.com
MJ was the top athlete at the time. He regulated what he ate. The bad choice was ordering Pizza Hut which is horrid food compared to his usual diet. His body couldn't handle the greasy slop that is Pizza Hut.
"Got a delivery for The Marriott." "No way! The Bulls are staying there. Who's it for?" "No name, but Mike ain't eatin' no pizza 10:30pm the night before the game!" "Yeah.... Must be Rodman's." "Let's poison it."
In my 28 years of life ive never felt worse than the one and only time I got food poisoning while on vacation in Vegas... 4 days of shivering sweats fatigue and puking
Worst time I’ve ever been sick as well, went to a bbq and got drunk and ate like 20 chicken wings/legs and I got food poisoning. Literally 3 days straight of projectile puking anything that went into my stomach while being in constant discomfort. If Jordan had food poisoning and then went and dropped 38 points in a game, that’s even crazier than the flu. I couldn’t imagine playing a full nba basketball game while feeling like that. Insane.
@@BostonsF1nest ya I left that part out on purpose lol.. it was hell... sitting in a hotel tub with the shower running super hot yet still shivering... hopefully never again
@@thizlam4810 I was at a beer pong tournament 😂😂 room service on the 4th of July got me... I think it was the meatballs but the next 2 days I could barely walk in a straight line...drank nothing but water for those 4 days
Hit or miss on Pizza Hut wings. First yime I had them they were good and I ordered from that place several times, always good wings. Then I moved and the Pizza Hut wings here were horrible. Never went back
Destiny 100 I can’t remember who it was, but recently a Bengals wide receiver was saying how he got the flu before a playoff game and said he thought to himself, “I’m gonna have an MJ flu game tonight” He said he had 2 catches for 15 yards and fumbled the ball, and his team lost 😂
Why would they ever tell the pizza shop that michael jordan ordered it? They would’ve never known😂and why would you and your boys not order another pizza for others around in the hotel room. It doesnt make sense what so ever😂
If he’s in his man cave he probably has silent exhaust fans in the ceiling to remove the cigar smoke. My ex girlfriend’s dad had them all over his finished basement
Those guys with Jordan in the locker room were United Center security. And the dude with the Q-tip hair was a Chicago cop who worked security for Jordan. I met that man multiple times, he lived in my neighborhood. All of this was in the last dance too. So tf are the boys talkin about here?!
It wasn’t Pizza Hut... you’re right it was a local spot. I read a similar story in a book about Jordan a few years ago saying it was just some hole in the wall place in SLC.
Justin Miller Yea but there’s plenty of people who would lie about that and hope espn gives them an interview because they don’t have anything else to put on tv
When i worked at Pizza Hut, pizza's were made of a frozen crust, covered with oil & left to thaw. A coworker added mineral oil laxative to the crust of customers that bothered him, until i pointed out he could hurt someone, or their family. It's also easy to see how rancid oil could accidentally get used.
@@tommyisrael6038 It's been mentioned in a book or 2, his agent or trainer or something has been saying it for years, and then living in Utah my whole life I've heard it for the past 20 years.
@Tommy Israel Its always been out there. There were local articles written about it back then. But the mass media didn’t report it that way, and there was no social media at the time. So it was kind of a rumor, until Jordan confirmed it.
You could definitely take credit card over the phone in 1998. I remember i use to watch my cousins, niece & nephew on the weekends back in 1995-96. When I did my cousin would leave his cc info to order out.
You could take a credit card over the phone in the late '90's. I 100% believe that there is no way the guy knew he was delivering pizzas to Air Jordan.
Theory Delivery guy: hi, I have a pizza for room 104. Hotel desk worker : Bro thats Micheal Jordan's room Delivery guy/hotel desk worker together in sync: I have 100$ riding on this game .....and then they proceed to poison the pizza in the hotel kitchen 👀
@Ulysses432 rich athletes can get whatever vice they choose no matter where they are. Illicit drugs like cocaine is illegal everywhere in the US, but somehow is still accessible. Quit being naive that MJ wouldn't be able to procure alcohol in a DRY STATE.
As a former restaurant manager I can tell you that there is no restaurant manager that can tell you if someone got food poisoning from their establishment. However what I can tell you is that if someone got food poisoning from your establishment it was most definitely on purpose because you did not do everything you were supposed to do to prevent it. It’s 100% preventable if you’re running a quality establishment.
Troy Pollonais bro I feel the same way, as a kid I absolutely loved Pizza Hut, Cicis pizza, etc etc but now I can barely eat 2 slices anytime I have pizza it’s crazy
M. J. Is awesome. Broadcast the last dance on Netflix and lot of people is getting attention. Lot of people knows best. Thank you M.J. for bringing back the basketball good times
Teams tend to stay at same Hotels when they travel. People in Utah definitely knew where the Bulls were staying. They probably didn't know it was MJ they were taking pizza for, but they could have deducted that it was for someone on the Bulls.
As a cigar smoker of 14 years I have to say that I found that to be untrue in my experience. I used nothing but matches and cedar strips the first decade. The last few years I have changed to butane torch and soft flame and can't tell one single bit of a difference. If you can tell a difference then no reason to change, I'm just saying I personally don't taste a difference. I think it's something the cigar elitists made up and now it's just engrained in people.
@@gregoryvierra6114 Wow, that was kind of an asshole reply. I said "I" and "we". Only an Idiot would use inductive reasoning based on one out of about 70,000, I was commenting about my personal, small town experience. Go ahead, Google "Inductive reasoning", so you can see that it makes no sense in this situation.
At 7:30 what Pat is talking about is called "The Gauntlet", it's done on belt promotion. It's a practice that is done in SOME Jiu-Jitsu schools. It's not as prevalent as it used to be.
You gotta be careful in Chicago about messing with sport stars, look at Steve Bartman, if this guy poisoned MJ, he'd have to go into Witness Protection, no joke.
How did they know it was Jordan? Simple, no other place was open and they’re calling around looking for anything open that will deliver. What do they say to get a delivery that late at night, “it’s for Michael Jordan”.
Every fan knew where the Chicago Bulls were staying at in Salt Lake City, the 5 guys that showed up who they were trying to food poison. They weren't sure if it was Jordan, Rodman, Pippen, or any other player.
I watched you play live many times AJ. Wisconsin shout out. My exgirlfriend's dad had season tickets and for two years I watched every game. Watching the Packers play was much better than the sex. I think you were cheated on being cut
Definitely not. Hangover, food poisoning, flu, doesn’t make that game any less impressive. Rodman and Pippen have both said that he was truly sick. School has taught you to use first hand experience. Not second.
I used to work for pizza hut in augusta about a mile from the Augusta National ad every year we get a big order on sunday after master ab 8-9pm and we knew who those pizza were for Every time we get an order from a celebrity those pizza would look better then commishals
This is what happened.Think about it. It's 2am. Pizza hut gets a call for delivery to the Marriott hotel. Now, traveling sports teams often all stay in the same hotel as per the advice of the host team. So it is not strange to expect that the Bulls would've stayed in the same hotel ANY NBA team travelling to play in Indiana would've stayed in. This is important because there were probably tons of Pizza Hut orders over the course of last few years to the Marriott hotel. This means, Pizza Hut already knew, that when you get a delivery order to the Marriott hotel, odds are, its to a sports team that is staying there. There was only ONE team that could've been there and Pizza Hut knew that. The Bulls. They then said to themselves, okay, with reasonable doubt, this pizza is going to someone on the Bulls team, what if its Jordan? Therefore, Pizza Hut didn't know the pizza was for Jordan, but they DID KNOW the pizza was for someone on the Bulls team. They could've easily poisoned it hoping it would get any member of the team sick, little did they know, they would strike the heart of it.
That's the dumbest story ever. So, none of the hundreds of other Bulls staff might not have ordered? It's much more likely than one of the players ordering pizza, they watch what they eat. Nobody did anything on purpose. This story is ridiculous.
1. Pizza Hut is not open after 10.00 pm 2. Tim Grover did not say what Pizza Joint they ordered from 3. Hotel security was relaxed in the 90s so delivery guys could go to guests rooms. 4. Errbody prolly knew where The Bulls were staying at. 5. If in 98 Jordan said he was food poisoned, his haters would say that was en excuse and wouldn't have believed him especially if Jordan lost. 6. After watching all of Last Dance, it's conceivable that MJ could have even be better than he already was. His lifestyle was different than us. Love your show 🖐️
