I learned so much from Pat... It is now 2023 and I am 76 years old... And have become incredibly great with horses due to Pat.. I ride about 2 hours a day 5 days a week give or take... I can never thank him enough for what he taught me.

I have had amazing results with my 3 year old mare... It only gets better with more quality time... Knowing what to do, when to do it and how to do it.. The feel Cannot be taught (Natural ability).... Develops naturally..... That comes with experience and a natural horse sense... However, Pat Perelli's education / insight is a must have....

Would love to have seen him when he was green and how you were able to get the buck out of him. This takes a lot of time.. inspirational, but this doesn’t happen over night.

I watched Pat get bucked off this boy when he first got him-we were at an advanced clinic-he was dragged when his foot got stuck in the stirrup, until he rolled over, face down on the dirt, and the boot came out. Right before lunch... This is the best I've seen him work with him...Wonder what Tom Dorrance had to say...

Dear Mr. Parelli, What a lovely relationship you have with this horse.I have such respect for the way you put yourself out there in this video. Clearly the flags are used as guides and not as punitive instruments, but I have noticed (with myself) that they interfere with the core energy and the feel that i am sending to the horse. They distract me and convolute my connection with the horse. I usually end up dropping them, especially if the horse is leaving me behind.. Mr.s Dorrance and Hunt did not use them. I suspect they chose not to for a reason. Most respectfully submitted....

i guess you mean the sticks (with strings) and not "the flags".
@mmarnp1

Yes. I know Buck Brannamen uses flags. I guess i like the "life" of the rope. To each his own! I appreciate that Mr Parelli submitted himself to a teacher like Mr Dorrance. Most commercial clinicians don't want to appear to be students. This speaks to Mr. Parelli's humility.

this is so cool! I would be interested what Tom Dorrance suggested, if we are able to find out? I have the exact same problems as Pat had here, with my own horse. Its so interesting to see this video, thanks for posting it! :D

Probably, "You might want to stop waiving sticks in his face, Pat. How would you like it if people waived sticks in your face."

What is the context of this video? Is Pat just fishing for compliments from Tom? Ask him to rope a cow with the carrot sticks in his hands.

I think we all would like to know what Mr. Dorrance said. I am curious...once a student is Level 4, are they considered savvy enough for stallions, or is that further learning. I am having to ride and play with a stallion and he is quite good, but even with Level 4 savvy, there are times when I become stumped on how to handle a particular issues of ;stallion behaviors' and what is appropriate to 'allow'...
