I don't think I've ever wished for something like that to end quicker then it ended up ending. Somehow 3 minutes was 2 minutes too long, and that's probably being generous. I'm really enjoying your Worst Match Ever series guys, keep up the amazing work! Also, I have a few suggestions for Worst Match Ever, if they've not been suggested already or aren't in the box already: Hulk Hogan vs. The Giant at Halloween Havok '95 (both the Monster Truck Sumo match and the actual match on the show itself, probably both together as one sitting). Hollywood Hulk Hogan vs. The Warrior at Halloween Havok '98 (the rematch nobody wanted). Any of the Punjabi Prison Matches. Goldberg vs. The Fiend Bray Wyatt at Super ShowDown 2020. Diesel vs. Mabel at Summerslam '95. Diesel vs. The British Bulldog at In Your House 4. Anything from WCW New Blood Rising 2000.
The only saving grace for this match was Crash Holly ending it. I agree with Pete as well, that did not feel like a 3 minute match. The ECW Chamber is gonna be rough.....can't wait! Another great episode. Makes my week, every week. Keep doing what y'all are doing!
Best series on RU-vid. I still think, as I’ve seen someone else say previously, that you need two separate lists though. One for how fun the match is to watch, and one for how objectively bad they are.
What's really gotten me about this series is that these matches have all been bad in wildly different ways. Two aging stars wrestling with head injuries and almost seriously injuring each other, two non-wrestlers in a singles match for some reason, a comedy match that isn't funny, blatant product placement, and coming up: a series of terrible booking decisions. Truly some Anna Karenina "every unhappy match is unhappy in its own way"-type vibes.
If you're looking for suggestions, what about Trish and Bradshaw vs Jackie Gayda and Christopher Nowinski? Raw, July 8th, 2002? I *think* Trish said that it was the worst match of her career; IIRC, Al Snow said in his book that Gayda should never have been sent out to wrestle so soon, she should have been a manager while she received more training, and that she was rushed.
Some potential suggestions for matches if they aren't already in the box: - Goldust vs. Ultimate Warrior (In Your House, 1996) - Randy Orton vs Big Show (Survivor Series 2013) -Trish Stratus and Bradshaw vs. Jackie Gayda and Chris Nowinski (Raw 2002) - Kennel From Hell Match - Eric Bischoff vs. Teddy Long (Survivor Series 2005) - Triple H vs. Scott Steiner (Royal Rumble 2003) - "Rosie O'Donnell" vs. "Donald Trump" (Raw 2007) - Kaitlyn vs. Maxine (NXT 2010) - Sting vs Jeff Hardy (Victory Road 2011) - The Brothers of Destruction vs. KroniK (Unforgiven 2001) - Booker T vs. Buff Bagwell (Raw 2001) - Brock Lesnar vs Goldberg (Wrestlemania 20) - Mr. T vs Roddy Piper (Wrestlmania 2) - Bret Hart vs Vince McMahon (Wrestlemania 26) - Hulk Hogan vs. Warrior (Halloween Havoc 1998) - Jerry Lawler vs Michael Cole (Wrestlemania 27) - DX vs Brothers of Destruction (Crown Jewel 2018) - Basically every match from Heroes of Wrestling - Intercontinental Chamber 2015 - Brock Lesnar vs Cain Velasquez (Crown Jewel 2019) - Seth Rollins vs The Fiend (Hell in a Cell 2019) - Roman Reigns Wrestlmania Main Events 32, 33, and 34
Always enjoy a Worst Match Ever episode! If you need another match to put in the box, RVD/Mr Anderson from TNA Turning Point 2011 is one I found out about recently, and boy I was gobsmacked by it. Immediately thought of this series when I saw it lol Edit: Got Turning Point mixed up with Victory Road, my bad
I love the background music. Its sets the mood for the certain activity i take place in all day. Im still confused about the ranking, so the bottom is the best worst match and the top is the worst worst match?
Tune in 10 minutes earlier to witness the forty-fifth President of the United States of America talking to Jerry “the king of Memphis wrestling” Lawler.
If you haven't got it already, you should do the "Chamber of Horrors" match from Halloween Havoc 1991. Sting, Steiner Brothers, and El Gigante vs. Cactus Jack, Abdullah the Butcher, The Diamond Stud, & Big Van Vader.
Absolutely love this show Luke! Brilliant idea to do it and I’ve laughed during every episode! Props to you sir 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Pete and Tempest help make it good too 👍🏻 LIW 4 LIFE ❤️
I witnessed this match live and in person. I can't believe it's been 24 years. Me and my buddies all made homemade Kurt Angle T-shirts for the PPV because there weren't any out yet.
Oh hell yeah!! So hyped for next week! I'm sure it was in the box from the start but I know I recommended the extreme chamber match at some point and I cannot wait! It is a guilty pleasure match for me and I'm so hyped
Just thought of these matches that HAVE to be added: - Miss Hancock vs. Major Gunns in the Mud Rip Off the Clothes match from New Blood Rising (2000) - Buff Bagwell vs. Kanyon in a Judy Bagwell on a Forklift match from New Blood Rising (2000) - Buff Bagwell vs. Booker T (c) for the WCW Championship from Monday Night Raw (July 2, 2001) - Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg from WrestleMania 20
It puts things in perspective that during WWE's creative peak, the time that (uncritical) fanbois still want to come back and look upon with incredible reverence, and STILL compare modern product unfavorably to had crap like this. And 'Mania 15 and 2000. And some of the most appallingly awful writing on weekly shows ever. Wrestling is NEVER "perfect," no matter how many Best Of or revisionist looks back companies try to spoon feed fans.
An argument for it to be worse than taker Goldberg is they didn’t even try from the start of booking for it to be good. Before it’s on paper it’s a bad idea. Didn’t start with any hope at all and still managed to deliver even worse. Going downhill, but starting at the bottom of the hill with some mining tool.
Bushwhackers ve Sheik & Volkoff. The worst rated match by both Dave Meltzer (Absolute Zero stars, i.e. - 459.67 stars) and Bryan Alvarez (- all the stars in the universe, and the universe is infinite)
This is the point where I am going “Oh god I actually have to watch these matches”. First time I have seen this match and gonna be the first time I have watched the Hardcore Chamber match
Is the IC Title Chamber match in the box yet? Also, if there are shorter matches, or just matches you think would go well together like they have so far, (Saudi + Zombie = bad idea matches, VR 09 + KR 2000 = dress matches) would match sets work for a video? Would make a decent podcast length video, plus would fill out the leaderboard a bit quicker.
I've not got many suggestions for the cavalcade of crapness but I've got some stormers that admittedly are probably already there DX vs Brothers of Destruction - Crown Jewel Taker vs Taker Tuwaiq Trophy Gauntlet Intercontinental Chamber
My pitch for the box is WarGames 2000: Russos's Revenge, the main event from the 4th September 2000 episode of WCW Monday Nitro. The final Wargames match in WCW, that is held in the triple-decker Ready to Rumble cage match. There are teams for some reason even though the match is for the WCW World Heavyweight title, so only one man can win. It is an incomprehensible mess!
Can i ask: with the ECW Chamber next, could the Intercontinental Chamber Match also be in the Box for Options? ;) I would love to see you guys laugh your a**es off when Ziggler shouts commands to everyone xD
Several episodes in and I still have no idea what the criteria for that leaderboard is. They really need to have two, one for actual quality, one for how fun the matches are to watch.
I do think this format suffers from not knowing if they are looking for the worst match, or the best worst match. But nothing that couldn't be workshopped.
I enjoyed the match and according to Bruce Prichard, it was supposed to be Lita and Trish Status, but Vince 💡 to Pat and Gerry. Bruce also talks about how Gerry was mad and Pat was all in. The promo to it was hilarious. Poor Howard Finkel, he gets kissed amd you can tell he was not expecting the kiss.
Petitioning for another TNA match: Shelly Martinez v Rebel from TNA's One Night Only: Knockouts Knockdown 4 It’s so bad it’s good hopefully it gets added to the box
Ooh, just thought of a really bad match: can’t remember when it was, but Miss Hancock vs Major Gunns, ending in a miscarriage scare in a mud put? Sorry, I need to go and bleach my brain…
It’s not the worst chamber match I’ve seen. Whilst yes it’s bad , it did have some good moments. The worst chamber match is reserved for the IC one in 2015.
So the first WWF Intercontinental Champion and one of the best tag team wrestlers of the 1970s are having a catfight, while wearing dresses. "Who let Vince book comedy?" Vince did.
