Pat was just 22 when he performed this. Think of the skill and genius required to produce that, and at 22. Listen to the tone he's getting out of that guitar: it's filling up the entire sonic space. Believe me I am an old guitarist and he is dominating with that tone, no question.
The first time I was introduced to Pat Traver's music was about '79. I was only 12 or 13 years old and thought his tone and playing was great. A few years into my hard rock experience and I knew he was ahead of is time. I saw him on the Crash and Burn tour. Pat Travers on vocals and guitar, Pat Thrall on guitar, Peter "Mars" Cowling, on bass, and Tommy Aldridge on drums. Incredible band. In my top five musicians.
Pat Travers treated all his fans like crap. He literally spit in my friends face just for asking Pat to autograph his making magic lp. My buddy actually became the drummer for PT. In his revenge he slept with pats women. Lol
@@drjay73 it really is a shame. Look at Johnny Winter. He was a world class blues player but in my mind he can never compare him to Eddie Van Halen. Now he was a guitar player and my other Guitar Hero besides Angus Young. All 3 separate different styles. Eddie was the most innovative. Tapping was previously done before Eddie came along but no one could tap like Eddie, NO one.
@@carlosgaspar8447 nah! There’s better song writers then the Ted! I agree that he is talented but no comparison with his playing compared to EVH’s world class virtuoso skills. You will never hear another player in yours and mines lifetime that even comes close.
Hell yeah. P.T. laying down some tasty riffs. This is the first song i heard by Pat Travers. Ive be "Hooked" on his music ever since. I actually met him 17ish years ago. He was totally down to Earth. No "big shot" airs about him. Which deepened my respect for him even further.
I love blowing guitar player's minds who are Nuno Betancourt fans that have never heard of pat. This is one of his biggest influences, and you can see how he built on it.
There you go, that's how it's DONE! Thanks Pat that was a Straight ROCK Kick to the Nut Sack....... Nicko and Pete are KILLERS, Thank you for Posting this Beauty, Brings back some WONDERFUL Memories.......🎸💚
I agree both great drummers though. I think Nicki is more of a technician. Aldridge was brilliant on the live album but in my opinion he never was the same drummer after that not even with Ozzy or Whitesnake. I would prefer Sandy Genero from the radio active tour.
Later on in the late 1970's, there were Mars Cowling on bass guitar, Tommy Aldredge on drums, and Pat Thrall on guitar. Great lineup for Pat Travers as well.
@@juanachares1123 what’s your reasoning and where is he off? Is it the syncopated rhythm he is jelling with or is it the ghost 1/4, 1/8 notes that are boggling your mind?
Right on. My favorite guitarist is Trower. Then Ronnie Montrose. PT, is in my top 5. PT, takes me back to my youth. Never tired of listening to his awesome work.
The grand formation of this band happened shortly after this formation. Tommy Aldridge on drums, Pat Thrall guitar, Mars Cowling bass and Pat Travers as himself. Live album, Go for what you know, one of the top 5 greatest live recordings in rock history. 1. UfO strangers in the night 2. Pat Travers gofor what you know 3. Led Zep live album can't recall the name.... the movie one 4. Judas priest unleashed in the east 5. Alway up for debate 4.
First concert go for what you know album. I think it was '79. BOC cheap trick and of course Pat. I was hooked. Seen him countless times. It's a workout when you see Pat live.
