Paterson Hosts Annual Juneteenth Flag Raising 

Paterson, NJ - Tuesday, June 18, 2024, Mayor Andre Sayegh, along with members of the Paterson City Council, will host the annual Paterson Juneteenth Flag-raising ceremony at Paterson City Hall. Juneteenth, also known as Emancipation Day, commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. It is a day of reflection, education, and celebration, highlighting the African American community's triumphs, struggles, and resilience throughout history.
This annual event symbolizes unity, progress, and a reminder of the ongoing fight for equality and justice. The City of Paterson is proud to join communities nationwide in recognizing Juneteenth and honoring the contributions of African Americans to our city and our nation.
