@@Tenkiei I'm not OP, but I think he meant to sell. I'd be curious to know if there are specific combos of influenced bases that you know are good, but that's all meta-dependent. Maybe there is potential for an early league video about crafting meta for sale?

@@Tenkiei That is the question I have been thinking about. Selling is always league/meta dependent. Sounds generic, but is there any item bases/influences that are just generally good to have. For instance, Hunter lvl85 boots.

I always highlight ilvl 86 bases at the start of each reroll, and check those first as they are potentially the best in terms of possible outcomes.

Yeh I do this too. I don’t even craft on them just take item as is and put it up for sale. Some bases go for 5-20c.

I been waiting on this one. Rog has been so fun for me lately. I learned a bit and you confirmed a lot of things I was doing wrong and right. I think part of the problem with trying to "teach" Rog is it's essentially a pricing video. And pricing is one of the few things I am actually good at in PoE. Been playing since Onslaught and I need my hand held going around the passive skill tree even to this day. I can't craft worth a dang. But I am always aware of the meta, past meta's and what builds use what. I can look at an item and know if there is value or not most of the time. I mentioned in a few videos ago I hit a 15ex craft on my third attempt and been hooked since. Pretty much a noobie to expedition mechanics. But I only picked up on the value of what I had gotten from Rog and how much I enjoy him based on what I consider one of my specialties in the game. And I know pricing is something a lot of folks, especially those with not so much play time, have issues with. Example, if you buy an armor/evasion base pair of gloves from Rog and you have t2 spell suppression alone there is a lot of potential value. Knowing that mod is rarer on hybrid bases and it should be your goal to preserve that and build around that is the challenge.

That's why I avoided pricing this time, and instead focused on the mechanics of how he worked and how his crafting modifiers were different from just using a chaos orb or a fossil. Another good example is knowing that an ilevel 85 eva glove base from rog is significantly more valuable than an ilevel 84, because 85 can get T1 spell suppression which gives a huge edge over the market. Knowing what to preserve, and knowing when to take the item and finish it elsewhere is definitely the hardest part.

I'd actually love to see more Rog crafting, but in long form, possibly a stream. And also how you price those items - I might end up with something decent, but absolutely no clue what it's worth.

Because it's late in the league I just tossed most in a 2 ex dump tab then I've been lowering what didn't sell. Pricing in particular would matter more earlier in the league and a rog stream is something I considered for this project. But I decided to wait till 3.18 since Rog is so much more important early (despite being good now).

@@Tenkiei I fully get where you're coming from with Rog beeing a lot more powerful and important earlyleague than he is now. However the sheer volume of "this is the mechanic" "do this" etc youtube videos that come out around then, makes it really hard for most casual players to keep up with their youtube feeds. If you were to make a rog video (and I'm not saying you should), now would probably be a better time for it. It would give people time to experiment with and implement the knowledge, so that they know how it works when the next league launches.

@@joaksannan551 the problem right now is that most of those items can't be price checked. They're all in the gigantic mish-mash of ~5c items that accumulate. Whereas early league they'd be worth 5-100c with clear variation based on mods.

I've been hating Rog a lot since I am very bad at crafting and I get him in 2/3 maps which can truly get frustrating but this helps a lot thanks

I yesterday sold ES shield for 10ex from ROG, was really surprised (also I even forgot I had it). it was: P1 T1 life P2 T1 Fire damage P3 T2 ES+block recovery (only trash mod) S1 T1 Lightning ress S2 T1 spell block chance S3 T1 spell crit chance

I just spammed through some wands got a single +1 all +1 lightning. That was nice. But normally I do the same as you, go for evasion bases, and life on rings. You can also go for perfect suffix/prefix and sell them or keep crafting yourself with the new currencies.

I made a few .5 ex stat rings and a very nice power charge shield that i sold for 1 ex. I like expedition/rog a lot. Rog is the most fun mechanic for me

I'll probably be making another rog video that talks more about pricing early in 3.18. The main issue right now is that most of the pricing is "put it in your dump tabs" and that'll be good enough for 90-95% of the items. But that's a late league problem.

i played SSF Hc on Expedition league and twas a blast . This league i played it again softcore (because i didnt wanted to die from a random archnemesis enemy). Used Rog ...because farming his currency is mich easier than farming crafting orbs, essences, and other stuff..and crafted with him my entire gear for my int stacking wander . Setup rog is not that easy on average but , following a pattern and sticking to it , was really rewarding in the end. Some items u craft with Rog are really really powerful or terribly bad but the odds are 80/20 and as i was checking other players crafting methods...i found Rog to be really really beginner friendly , super cheap and efficient . Yes the options are all random but u can choose what u want to next with ur item;your not tossing into the drain multiple exalts and ur not breaking ur bank; run 5-10logbook and u have all the currency u need to do some Rog crafting . Btw i love your content and im glad your not just showing us a build guide like most players/streamers do . Keep it up. 😊😉💪💪

I really like this kind of crafting video. I used to love amigo boys because he basically did this all the time. I was playing with this yesterday and rolled a +3 unset. I didn't know what it was worth. When making chest pieces, I was just spamming essences, and I hit a few that I think I should have sold. Maybe if I saw a video of yours I would know what t1 life with frenzy on hit is valuable no matter what, or something like that. I just kept going because I didn't need it. Stuff like that helps a lot. If you made those videos just spamming bases, I would watch all of them

Good to know, usually in the past I've avoided that because I figured that people would find it boring. I have done a couple crafting livestreams, and definitely might do more in the future if this is something people like seeing.

@@Tenkiei I really like it as background noise while I do something. I like it more if the videos are long. I can let it go while I do dishes and I just aim to learn something where I wouldn't have otherwise. Today I learned that stats + accuracy is good for omniscience. I also learned that almost any high tier dex base is probably worth trying because I have so much rog currency.

@@EvilWeiRamirez In general, I do plan to make my videos a bit longer than I did in the past. Previously I often cut down on video length because my computer couldn't handle longer videos so I'd have to edit them in sections then render them together which resulted in a lower quality and disjointed experience. But with my new computer I'm easily able to edit a 20-30 min video without issues. Not every video will be that long, but I definitely won't be cutting things down as much as I have in the past.

It's entirely possible, especially for something like a phys weapon, you can upgrade all affixes to maximum albeit extremely rarely.

Probably not, since that sort of breakdown is more important early in a league rather than this late. Edit: I'll likely revisit that and talk more about what sold during 3.18.

This video is outstanding. I didn't even know you could craft with Rog. I think the only question that I have would be. Are there any affixes that simply cannot be rolled by Rog?

Yes, things like "of the underground" and "subterranian" or other drop-only modifiers such as those you get from the temple cannot be rolled by rog.

When i used Rog last time - i created 0 suffix/prefix rare elegant shield. It just has this type of shield implicit and yellow color lulw

would love to learn how to roll a +1 powercharge -% res of nearby enemies, accuracy helm. i know there are vids on this but they all seem to be contingent on old harvest crafts that do not exist or are outdated in another way. great vid though, will play more with rog

or an ele % dmg, crit multi, frostbite on hit, flat dmg vs chilled enemies ring with open suffix and hybrid chaos res ring lol

1. get two helmets one with +1 power charge, secon with -9% or elevated -12% resist to element 2. get awakeners orb 3. merge them together 4. pray to get accuracy since power charge is prefix and -% res is suffix, theres very little you can do after that to proceed with crafting in that type of helmet

@@Moozerty thank you very much for that breakdown. if I did get another undesirable mod could I harvest remove non attack add attack for accuracy or is that too dangerous for the other influenced mods?

Unfortunately, it's very hard to consistently craft something like that these days due to merging a prefix and a suffix. I could be remembering wrong, but remove non-attack add attack I believe only works on non-influenced. It would be a big gamble though as it could eat one of your influence mods even if you metacraft.

@@Fungorrr Its not possible to use 'remove non-X add -X' harvest crafts on influenced items anymore. All those crafting techniques are lost in the past - they only existed in harvest (up until its nerf in next leagues). If you combine 2 influenced mods and they are prefix+suffix (like +1power charge / -% resist) you cant do much unfortunately. Only lucky annuls or exalt slams or multimod. Methods are different for crafts that include 2 prefixes or 2 suffixes (for example frenzy charge on hit + spell crit on chests - in that situation you can block suffixes reforge prefixes, reforge harvest, reroll using veiled orbs or aisling slamming).

Rog has been my mvp since expedition league. Especially since I play hcssf. I always try to tell people not to sleep on rog. I've crafted soo much good gear with him this league. Including-a t1 life, +1 all skills, +1 fire skills, t1 dex with open suffix on a lapis ammy. Also my weapon on my poison trapper- t1 dot multi. T2 chaos dot multi l, +1 all spells, with an open prefix which i crafted phys as extra chaos. These are just a few of the things I've crafted this league. I think people get a bad taste with rog after trying 1 or 2 crafts and striking out. But he's not going to hit a home run every time. But when he does......he comes thru big.

Rog frequently crafts mana and attack damage modifiers on my rings when all i want life and resists. very frustrating. i understand his potential but its massively too much RNG personally.

In the case of rog specifically "Reroll" means something similar to chaos where it picks new modifiers, but it works a little differently in practice in terms of item weightings.

Rogs definition of "best" is just "higher ilvl req of the mod = better", so the biases you're seeing on his rerolls are simply due to that. For example, the highest Life roll on Rings has an ilvl req of 44 - you're not going to see that one often when rerolling prefixes on high ilvl rings. On the other hand, resists and attributes have mods in their pools that go all the way up to ilvl req 84-85 on most slots, so you'll be seeing a lot of those when rerolling suffixes. You don't need to eyeball these trends and learn them thru "hundreds or thousands of rerolls", the science here is completely predictable.

I never touch boots that are under i86. This might be a mistake on my behalf but i86 makes it much more likely to roll 30% or better movespeed. You should try i86 bows. It's shooting for the moon somewhat, but +2 arrows is somewhat of a big deal when it hits. Reforge suffixes keep rarest won't hit the +2 arrows version often but hitting +1 is a lot more common, then that can upgrade. When I hit 40-50c items, I tend to add bottom tier Eldritch mods to them, not going for the best mods but just going for generically good mods that make the item better.

For a long time I only really cared about suffixes on boots, because if I got good suffixes I could eldritch chaos or suffixes cannot be changed + veiled chaos and fix the prefixes then sell for a decent profit. As the league goes on (week 4+) it makes more sense to target il86 since the rerolls are so cheap. I did shoot for the moon on a few bows, but never hit the juicy +2 arrows sadly. I did hit a couple of half decent +1 arrow bows that just never gave me the option to upgrade. I noticed on bows, and weapons in general it can often be beneficial to pick the annulment option to remove low tier junk mods as reroll choosing rarest does not work well for weapon prefixes but crafting % phys or a flat ele roll to complete a weapon with 2 good prefixes + good suffixes works well.
