Patina Matching Original Paint - 1956 Chevy Gasser Long Roof!

You all have been asking for it! So here we go, patina matching the ratty/chopped up hood that came with the wagon. It's a pretty simple process to color/patina match 65 year old paint. Just takes some patience and the ability to the outside to box.
I gotta say, it turned out better than I expected! What do you guys think?

I liked the white hood. It was your car and you liked it that way. If it was my car I would have painted the hood. It really looks complete and it (the hood) belongs blue. The broken down chevy song fits the theme perfectly, Dannie did an awesome job with that song

The wagon is coming along really well. Painting the hood the top body colour looks good and just matches in. Sanding to get patina allows the paint work to look natural. Thanks so much for all the work you show as it is inspiring. Regards Jules Australia

I'm new here and love the patina look.. I don't worry about laying wrenches on the fender,,, unless they are greasy..lol Looking forward to watching more of your stuff.

Have watched this build from start to present and to say that you have turned what would have been trash in a couple more years time to the treasure that it is now is a understatement. The people who complain about paint, roof racks and other things probably can't or won't turn a wrench mainly out of pure laziness. F*** em, killer build! Keep doing what you do;

Nice job ,to both of you ! The hood matches the body & that bit at the end with the chrome lip on , sends it home . Dani has a good voice & "That broken down old Chevy" is a good song for the wagon videos ! Yes , please fix that flapping fender on the "drinker's" side . Awesome ! 2 thumbs up , & a toe !

When you started, I was going to suggest paint the bonnet... oops, hood, we aren't in Australia any more, flat black, because that's what you do when it doesn't match. But then, when you were doing the sanding I changed my mind, nope, it looks perfect. It really looks like it's just been dragged out of a field and brought back to life, with the casual polished tunnel ram hanging out, that just sets it off. Danni's song fits so well, I can just picture you guys pulled up with a picnic lunch, with her providing the entertainment.

What a difference a little paint, sanding, and polishing makes! The car really looks so much better. The effort was very much worth while. Hope you hand heals wuickly, I know how muvh a burn hurts. Kerp up the good work.

That old wagon has really come to life, and It is what you wanted it to be! Those that hate on it wish they had it . I think it looks killer just the way it is . Looks kind of Ratroddish and Patina paints is a good thing! IMO . I know you groaned about painting the hood but holy crap it turned out beautiful! It’s a perfect fit on the car- finishes the look so well! Great work Danno- I can’t wait to see it at car shows or on the road this summer!! And nice job on your song Danni, love it- now it’s stuck in my head!
