Thanks John, for identifying the truth of issues happening in Syro-malabar church of India, and understanding the fighting spirit of Archi Eparchy of Ernakulam - Angamaly. We had a true Shepherd Bishop Antony Kariyil, who analysed the cause of the issues at our diocese and supported us. But our unfair synod has expelled him and deported him. Now this fake synod has restricted his freedom of travel too. Now we have an apostolic administrator Arch bishop Andrews thazhath, who is a true dictator, made several attempts to devide the Archi Eparchy of Ernakulam - Angamaly. But failed miserably. Now Arch bishop Andrews thazhath is threatening to freeze the parish council, which is an elected body. How dare he is? He must stop this dictatorship and go back from our diocese. Now we are expecting a papal delegate, he who may understand people's feelings. We request you to notify these things to Pope Francis. Anyway people of god at Archi Eparchy of Ernakulam - Angamaly is not going to sacrifice the right to have the holy mass facing people. We are ready to loose our lives to protect our custom.

It seems that the game plan of Andrews / Synod is to obtain a favourable order from the High Court before the Papal Delegate is appointed. They will lobby for a Papal Legate without having powers of a Bishop in Ernakulam Archdiocese. Andrews will try to continue. Or a pliant priest would be made Auxiliary Bishop. They want the Papal Delegate to be dependent on them to further their own interests. The appointment of a Papal Delegate and an Archbishop for Ernakulam is seen as positive by people in Ernakulam. But what Synod wants is a pliant Papal Legate and to change the see of Major Archbishop from Ernakulam.

Vatican 2 was nothing but a liberating experience which transformed the entire church. Just like what Pope John 23rd declared it was like opening those windows and doors to humanity allowing the dust to move out and fresh air to come in. Ernakulam Angamaly Archdiocese correspond to the view that we here have a synthesis of various cultural identities and as Indians we should show more and deeper affinity towards our Indianness than anything else. St Thomas haven't imported any culture to India or Kerala and we in the meantime came into contact with various streams of culture both Syrian, Chaldean, Roman, Portuguese and many more which all had an indelible impact on our ways of living. So instead of imposing, the spirit of listening should be inculcated. This should accomodate the voice of the laity and should pay heed to their opinion before implementing something unilaterally.

About the Holy Year. All you have to do is walk through the holy door of each of the four principal papal basilicas, go to confession and communion and say a prayer for the pope. That is it. Don't go there and fail to do those things. What not to do? Avoid the mob at the Vatican Museum. Looking at art is not intrinsic to a pilgrimage, but you won't see any art there, only peoples' backs. You will have to go to confession again if you set foot in that museum, which is one of the most wonderful museums in the world, but no one has seen any art there for decades, and it will only be worse in a Holy Year.

My priest friends from India tell me that the "unified form" was crafted by the synod as a compromise, because some priests were saying Mass toward the people all of the time (the reformed way), and some were doing the opposite all the time (the traditional way). So the "unified form" required all the priests to face the people some of the time and not to face them the rest of of the time. This particular conflict seems to pit the "unified form" authorities against the "face us all the time" people. There are other "face us never" people on the sidelines. I have a solution to recommend. Put a big mirror behind the altar. When the priest is facing the people, you can look in the mirror to see his back. When the priest is facing away from the people, you can look in the mirror and see his face. Then everybody can be happy. (Insert happy face emoji. Maybe two.)

Incidentally, as someone eminently acquainted with human nature, it is refreshing that not one molecule if me is inclined to give the side eye to Fr Zollner who I feel is a rare case (in any context Catholic or otherwise) of an outstanding, unimpeachable and exemplary figure, trying to achieve that thing Roger Moore does as 007 when he's abandoned in the lake surrounded by crocodiles and skips deftly over the forest of semi submerged leathery snouts, with a fusillade of snapping jaws trailing his progress to safety, just milliseconds behind his departure to the following peril-laden stepping stone. Fr Zollner's actions I'm afraid, speak loudly and clearly to the worldwide Catholic Church which, despite its apparent 2000 year resilience, I do not think has fully appreciated the danger it is in - after all, it may well have got away with the most arrogantly blithe and effete aristocratically waspish waving away with a little flick of the wrist for much more than a dozen centuries - but that is primarily because all of that time, bar the last dozen (or two) years, it has been able to conduct its operations without the gaze of the Internet AND shielded by the cowering deference of the masses. Both of those occurrences happening independently and at different times would be considered serious challenges - dangerous - to the Catholic Church. But for both to be swiped simultaneously seems to be akin to the sheet over the vampire's coffin being flung off at the same time the curtains open and the coffin lid kicked off....Dracula had better hope the sun isn't quite yet up - or at least that it's cloudy - since we've all seen the movies and dont need telling what happens next! Those "in the know" are fully aware, despite Francis' desire to mix the fruit corner (how apt?) - the concentrated sugary, tangy goodness of the bishops' power - into the pappier, mushier, blander creaminess of the presbyteral and lay yoghurt. John Allen - the unified liturgy has been adopted by 34 out of the 35 Syro Malabar dioceses, the issue is only with 1 diocese.also these rebel priest and rebel laity has allegedly links with some radical islamist Jihadists movements in Kerala (namely Popular front of India, Jamthe islami which are considered to be sources of their funding). Rebel priests have been alleged to have kidnapped the previous archbishop and Vatican asked him to step down last year. in additon to that they engaged in Eucharistic abuse punishable by cannon law where in they celebrated relay masses (like running a relay in olympics) or marathon masses, i.e non stopes masses for about 16 hrs with the same host with an aim to prevent the Pope approved liturgy from happening

Your picture depiction is lopsided. Syro Malabar church is an independent church and synad holds the authority in the matters of faith and liturgy. And this form new mass well discussed for decades and its sort of a compromise formula encompassing two versions of theology as during the time of second Vatican council, few church leaders started a new form of mass without the approval from Vatican. Thats the root cause. There were multiple failed occasions to start a common way to celebrate mass as we had multiple versions of mass celebration. Finally except Ernakulam archdiocese, it was implemented fully by all. There were numerous grave things happened in basilica church during the last Christmas. A set of rebel priests said mass 16 hours continuously throughout night as a form of protest for some priest to celebrate new form of mass. Have you ever heard in the history of church to use mass as a form of protest. It was a marathon relay mass non stop for 16 hours..Rebel priests knew that police can not Stop them as they were saying protest mass. Finally bunch of laitys came and stopped. We are curious to know the position of Vatican on these protest mass and its stand on disciplinary action. There are some senior priests facing court trial on forgery against the cardinal of the church claiming cardinal is having lots of unaccounted money from this archdiocese You should try to make a new video after some more research. You should be able to get lots of interesting forms of protests done by some priests which beyond imagination

The tabanacle has been removed in their churches from its place of prominence on the centre of the altar. A curtain has been added before the altar , the Mass and beliefs have shifted from depths of spiritual to one of ritualistic and cultural entity We the people of Ernakulam Angamaly diocese are unwilling to give up the deep faith and join the symbolic service. How can any one call us disobedient. We are standing deep in our faith . We stand firm in our beliefs. We request the pope to give us special dispensation to form a special entity like the AMBROSIAN RIGHT. 10 we hope the pope understands the unworthiness of the Bishops of the Syro Malabar church and deputes a just and honest representation to study this issue. So that this ancient church is not destroyed
